The "Going To An Audition" Thread

I hope those guys show a little appreciation for you hopping around instruments to keep this thing going! And yeah, a 35-year reunion sounds like a blast!

A task I am failing miserably at. :brick

Charlie didn't show. He's still suffering the after effects of a
nightmarish scenario I'll spell out sometime here. One of the
most F'ed up stories/scenarios I have ever heard. It's a mindblower. :hugitout

Anyways, no idea what is going on. I am just going to keep
showing up and will fit in where I am needed. This week on
Drums. Next week we are supposed to have yet another
Drummer coming to sit in and see how we all get along. The
musical chairs aspect of the band is starting to where on us
all. I can hear it everyone else's attitude and voice.

Getting too close to crunch time. Gonna have to lock in on
some kind of configuration. :idk

Good luck, man!

I know it’s a tough spot to be in because in a lot of cases you could say “Let’s take a few weeks off and recharge, maybe get some new blood in during the downtime” but where everyone is already worn down a bit, ya risk people not being too excited about coming back after time off.

Good luck, man!! That kind of effort deserves to be met with people who will appreciate it!

Yeah, I am totally NOT putting any added pressure on anyone right now. We've been excited,
cautious, and full of WTF! too many times in the past few months. Just have to chill, have some
laughs, keep grinding, and not get too stressed about that which shall not be controlled. :beer

At least that is what I am telling myself! :beer

You got this! Think of it like maintenance on the Hog!! You got to put the work in so you can enjoy the ride when the weather is with you ;~))

Would you believe that was what was exactly on my mind when I woke up this morning??!! :love

Thanks, MD! Great perspective. :beer
Hope you get to ride soon! And I mean actually ride, not just piss off the neighbors (though I do fully support that endeavor)!!

This thread is exhausting. :brick

Apparently, we are bringing in Drummer #376 tonight. :idk

Downsouth Dave lined this guy up. I saw the ad on CL and it
was a bit too Americana-centric for me to invite him. Dave
felt differently. I doubt he is Metal/Rock enough for us, but
we'll see. At least I get to play guitar tonight and break out
my latest Marshall-based Preset on the FM3. I'll take it. :beer

^^My condolences.

Well, Kevin didn't spontaneously combust. Total opposite of Chuck when it
comes to personality. Quiet. Super quiet. So refreshing. Also a little creepy. :idk

Dude had a Stroke a few years back and lost his entire right side. Worked his
way back and is playing drums again. You can tell he appreciates being able to
play and really is grateful. Super humble. Did ok for coming in and learning
new material. Pretty much nailed anything he knew from the past. Couldn't
tell he had had a Stroke. Guess we are at the age where we are all recovering
medical tales at this point. :hugitout

Now will he show up next week. And if he does will he know the material better
than he did last night, and show signs of growth and time spent doing his due
diligence on his own.

If not, we've decided I'll end up on the throne for the upcoming shows this Summer.

I hope he steps up to the challenge. :beer

I look forward to the weekly report these days, Sir @la szum ! This has replaced my former interest in the weekly "Private Stock" postings on the PRS Forum.

Haha! Sorry to disappoint this week, Dave. :hugitout

One of the guys was sick this week, and it is his space
we practice at, so we didn't get together this week.

I am going to see him tonight and hang for a bit, and
talk guitars. He's a Helix user and we seem to get along
great. Weird, huh? Must be something wrong with both of
us.

Well, the other guitarist just called and new work obligations are going
to force him to bow out of our upcoming gigs. :brick

This leaves a couple of options.

1) Try and shoulder the whole weight myself. Maybe break out a W/D/W Rig. :grin:grin:chef:rawk:rofl

2) See if I can get Charlie on board to fill in for the gigs.

Man, the moving pieces never seem to stop moving.

Have to just soldier on! :beer
