Semantics. It's very much the opposite of "But you never left guessing what you're doing."

No, it's not semantics  Fractal's UX gets on the way at every step, yes... but EDIT does what it means.

Again, check the Creating a Preset example in the NC's deep dive video, about the most basic operation available: it's impossible to work it out until you memorize what every tiny led's color over the encoders mean. Good luck creating a capture without your phone at hand.

So what does ENTER mean? How does a button that ENTERs an EDIT screen differ from an EDIT button? And what happens if I try to EXIT to the HOME screen?

Watched it before and just rewatched it, I really don't see anything hard about creating a preset on this thing.

Cycle through captures using the captures knob
Cycle through IRs using the IRs knob
Cycle through effects using the effects button
Engage effects by holding the effects button
Save by holding the save button

Pretty easy peasy.

About the same that happens when you hit EXIT on the NC while editing a preset.... only you don't have a screen telling what the fuck's going on 😄

I'm regretting deleting all my captures from my account after I got huffy with Neural now, coz I've gotta do all my amps again! :rofl
How are you getting on with the QC this time? Any significant improvements, or are you likely to return it?

Sure. What's a blue led on FX position 3, again?

Engage effects by holding the effects button
Save by holding the save button

So... where exactly i'm saving? I just played with the bank/slots buttons to select capture and IR, so 🤷‍♂️

I don't need this.

I don't need this.

I don't need this.

I absolutely do not need this.

(And also: a new iPad with a USB-C port.)

The more I think about it, the more of a missed opportunity there is not having two captures.

There are a lot of P&W folks who really like to run stereo amps at the end of their signal chain. Some people have run dual ToneX setups even, which is easier with the One now. Back in the day some people would even go so far as to run dual Kempers.

Being able to run dual captures in stereo would have been a real killer differentiator compared to ToneX and Kemper Player. HX Stomp can do it yes, but captures can be a better sound/feel (or at least closer to ideal).

Alternately, you could have run a pedal capture and an amp/cab capture, which again would have been very versatile. So you could run an 808 boost into a high gain amp, or a Klon into a Dumble, or whatever.

The other big flaw I see is, right now it literally ships with what five effects? And it sounds like more would be added down the road. Isn't NDSP already fighting the PR battle of not having plugin compatibility and developing content for the QC? I have to think a lot of savvy buyers may look at the product and want to wait until it matures, which could be 2-3 years from now given their QC development.

Lord knows I'm a QC defender, but I just don't know about this one. Maybe I'll come around to it like the HX One, which kinda makes some sense.

Hell I can't decide to keep or sell my QC. I reset it again yesterday to get ready to list and then ended up building a patch and jamming for an hour lol

It's always the first thing I turn on because it takes me 3 seconds to get to work. What I really need to do is tear the proverbial Band Aid off and sell the FM3. Yes, it's amazing. No, I'll never actually use it.

You don't need to remember colors, there are 5 fixed effects... it's super easy to remember what they are.

One of the four footswitch presets... super easy. The bank button is for cycling through Capture banks.

This little device is tempting but I just can't get on with the whole Cloud storage bit unless there is a way to create, store and manage all your Captures locally on your computer and not have to rely on the NDSP Cloud always being available in perpetuity. Is that still the case or can the QC create, store and manage Captures with zero internet or NDSP?

One of my major annoyances with the ndsp system. Not a total dealbreaker, but the way in which the cloud system is set up and the fact that you can't do this (not an oversight, I believe this is done intentionally for content control) is a big negative for me.

I really wish they would offer both.

Doing it over WiFi within their system is great for me because I don’t have a laptop I can use for managing it, but knowing I wouldn’t be able to access anything if their system was down is not good.

The "laid in bed thinking about it all night but still won't buy" was a doozy, don't you think?
Honestly yeah I thought it somewhat common given a lot of the very evident gear pontification that goes around the forums. Bit over the top sure but not so far out line to keep going on about it. People post what they want. If it bugs you… roll your eyes and laugh or think to yourself this guys an idiot and move on OR put them on ignore.

I just think people should be able to post whatever they like, even at times things that annoy some people, without a pile on.
