Bucky: It's not for me.

2 pages later.......

Bucky: Ya, I read the manual and it's definitely not for me.

2 more pages......

Bucky: Just watched another video and this thing is stupid.

next morning.......

Bucky: Spent a couple hours thinking about the Nano last night
and how fucking terrible a job Neural did. I won't be buying.

1 more page.....

Bucky: There's zero practical uses for this piece of shit.

..........

Rest of Forum: SHUT THE FUCK UP BUCKY!!!!

No. As said, I'm switching the dirt boxes on/off all the time. Not gonna waste a preset for just that.
Right, so again it just comes back to it not being for you. No harm, no foul.

Not throwing shade at NDSP trying to have their cake and eat it too - because most companies do the same. But they said what they said.
to a lot of people, that is a full rig though. Always going to be exceptions, but I bet that exact wording has been used for chains that are more simple too. Marketing blurb should be ignored, it’s just sales speak to exaggerate what’s there. Most of my “full rigs” don’t have any delay or chorus or reverb. I wouldn’t use “full rig” but it’s just a vague ambiguous term that makes it sound powerful.

wouldnt you just run the actual stomp box with it? why do you want that digitized as well?

Oh for me, it was night and day. I don't even mean other peoples, I just mean doing my own. I had the Kemper side-by-side with the QC back in 2021, and to me it was extremely clear that the Kemper was quite far away from the source amp, and the QC was a lot closer. Taken in broader context, I'd put the accuracy hierarchy like this:

1. NAM
2. ToneX (but on advanced training)
3. QC
4. ToneX (on fast training)
5. Kemper

Oh I know all about how much you hate Kemper. But I still remember my Kemper rig based around Benson Profiles as one of the best sounding live rigs I’ve ever had.

I didn’t find anything in the Capture library that I liked as much as those Profiles.

Who the fuck is Bucky?! :rofl

BUCKY = a forum member who has zero interest in a piece of gear. Less than zero interest, yet spends
a ridiculous amount of time posting to tell everyone how:

a) they won't be buying it
b) it's a dumb piece of gear
c) there's no practical use for it
d) it doesn't move mountains therefore it's shit
e) they won't be buying it

rinse wash repeat......

Yeah one single encoder is exactly what the doctor ordered.
Thought noone ever.
Hold my beer.

I can see it being huge for some people, but it’s useless for others. It would be completely useless to me.
Yes but that goes for anything. But to say the Tone X and QC do essentially the same thing while leaving out capture functionality of the NC is just not fair as some on here are doing.

This pedal is meant to be slapped on a pedalboard in most instances. Same as the Kemper Player and Tone X. Yes you can use it standalone but this market is for those who are looking for a hybrid rig or their first entry into digital

The features aren’t super impressive but the price is pretty solid. It’s like the Kemper player but comes in a fair bit cheaper. May get some more people in the ecosystem…
Realistically, it's a great price for all it does. (Especially: making captures away from one's own studio.) Unfortunately, it's priced outside of my personal "impulse buy" zone- in contrast with, for instance, ToneX at launch. So I keep looking at its limitations and hanging on to my money.

If this had been $400, I'd have reflexively Added to Cart by now. And if it had been something closer to a single DSP/ dual lane QC, even at ~$1K, I'd have made arrangements to sell some unused gear and Add to Cart by now. $549 and a fixed signal chain is the anti-goldilocks price point for me. :D

Sure, but Capture is a unique case because its usefulness is 100% dependent on having additional gear to Capture. It’s not like a chorus that anyone may or may not turn on, it’s something you can’t use at all if you don’t have something to use it on.

I don’t have a single thing to Capture, so that feature is a wash between those three devices

I know you don't lol but plenty of other people do lol

I'm just asking people to try and imagine having gear they want to capture. Not everyone has ditched their physical gear.

We all know this isn't a device for a majority of the people on this sub. But if I were choosing between the NC, Tone X, and Kemper Player....it's NC all day solely because it can capture.

I have 4 amps and a few pedals and thinking about dealing with Tone X capture creation and needing additional gear and then the total lack of the possibility in the Kemper Player, the NC honestly is the only one I could consider.

The capture functionality sets it apart greatly from Tone X and KP. I get you don't have gear, but those interested in capture devices usually do.

I am fully aware that the ability to Capture will be huge for some people, I’m not arguing that point
