What are they being replaced with?
Also, I’m not super versed in Rect lingo, as I’ve only really gotten into them digitally in the last year or so, but is “multi-watt” the 50/100 switchable ones?
I’ve had this joker firmly in my 2025 plans:

That's the one. Current Rectifier model. Gone. Don't know what is replacing it.
Soooo… $3499 for the RI Dual Rec?
It’s a “no” for me dog. I’d just grab another Rev G for notably less or a MW. I dig the chrome chassis but fuck all that.www.rig-talk.com
This is what I think is happening. They’re in a re-issue phase right now, bringing back the two amps that made a name for the company, the IIC and the Rev F rectifier. Once they’ve moved past this phase in a couple of years, I think we’ll see a new wave of amps from them, and probably including more of the modernization we’ve seen with various amps including MIDI and CabCloneIR features. I’m still surprised we haven’t seen a mini VII or an updated Mini Rec with a CabClone IR, I’d think those would sell amazingly well as they are some of the top selling low wattage amps out there. This is finally a Gibson move that I can’t get behind. Ditching a modern recto and only having the upcoming RI available is dumb imo. Unless there’s a new recto update coming down the pipeline eventually
Yup. Gone.Word on the street is that the Multi Watt Rectifiers are discontinued. Enjoy them while you still can!

Doesn’t look like it for 2025. Mini Recs are also all gone.Maybe I'm wrong, but if I had to bet, I'd say the MW will be replaced with something more in line with what it is, while the Recto RI will be its own thing.
can't see shit on the Silver Jubilee.
I mostly like the MW because it's voiced different than the other 3 channel. I don't care about the wattage switchI personally never understood the multi watt recto, reading this thread I may be alone…
Rectos do not sound good when you get the power section cooking, or at least they don’t sound like what most think of as a “recto sound.” Having a high wattage box size and cost, plus the IMO worthless feature of lowering the wattage just never made sense to me.
I get some people wanting a lunchbox version. I get the 100-150 watt versions. I don’t get the multi watt.
I think they should kill the multi watt and just have a modern 3-channel dual and/or triple.

I also liked the MW more but it was for the cleans. They upgraded to the Lonestar clean channel for the Roadster, Road King 2, and MW Rectifiers, then carried over the same preamp circuit to the Mini Rec and the Rectoverb 25. It’s an ideal clean channel IMO, especially with a slight compressor or treble boost out front. Plus being able to select the tube rectifier for the clean channel but leave the heavy channels in silicon diode rectification is simply awesome.I mostly like the MW because it's voiced different than the other 3 channel. I don't care about the wattage switch
The high gain tones, specifically the more modern ones, can sound weird if you saturate the power amp on a recto. The clean and mid gain tones can sound VERY good though.I personally never understood the multi watt recto, reading this thread I may be alone…
