Why does it sound so cool?
And what is going on to make it sound like it does?
The final note (not shown) is a C (2/13), but the way it's tabbed, that final note is on the next line, on the far side of the page, so I omitted it to help with the screen shot.
It's a part from Paganini's Moto Perpetuo, and here's the Songsterr link, if you want to hear/see it in context (but I think there's enough in those 2 bars to show what I'm referring to.) And that link has it tabbed differently. Much of the way it's tabbed involves way too many position shifts, so I've been working on editing it for myself, to make learning/playing it much easier, and helping to be in an optimal position for whatever comes next.
I'm still trying different positions, but it all involves tradeoffs of one thing or another. Like in the part shown above, I'm still struggling with the back-and-forth, outside string change (since I mostly start with a downstroke) on beat 3, bar 14. Inside ones aren't quite as bad, but both are preferable to a bunch of position shifts.
