I suspect this thread will be somewhat more narrow genre wise to the Dual Rec, but goddamn this amp records well for the heavies. PEAVEY ERA ONLY. Ideally 5150/6505, 5150II/6505+ is acceptable too. EVH is a separate thread.

Holy fuck - when did the prices for brand new ones skyrocket??? $1699 for the ‘1992’ and $1999 for the II. Weren’t these like 1299 and 1499 not that long ago?

I bought my first 6505 a couple of years (7 or 8 IIRC) ago for 899 EUR. If I‘d want to buy one today I‘d pay 1359 EUR. That‘s 51% more.

Yep. I paid $1300 in September 2024 for the 6505 1992. Pretty fucking happy I pulled the trig then. Wow!

I consider $1700 rape cause I'm not willing. Daem.
