It's superglued, just in case the amp gets bumped and my carefully sculpted tone suffers. It's a hard life on the road you know, the last thing I need is my tone to suffer.

Tonestack looks good, Presence could come down one notch that Resonance, oof. Haven't played on an OG 6505 but I've got the 6505+ and its definitely not that cranked haha.

What a beaut looking amp, insanely good cosmetic condition for a 1992 what a keeper. Also don't let anyone boost shame you... Tubescreamer into the red channel is perfectly acceptable. You know you've gone a tad too far when the amp starts electronically chirping from slamming it too hard, but that's what noise gates are for (I guess you can back it off a little at that point )

Okay I confess, the settings were for the image only.
I use B7, M2, T8, R5, P8, still scooped but balanced, the amp has a ton of mids (50k mid pot) so on 2 it's roughly equal to a marshall on 5.

When i was an up and coming new wonder star my Marshall was set to everything on 10 except for Mids on 0, boosted with an MXR 2000 series Distortion + with both knobs on 10.

When St. Yngwie said “more is more” It spoke to me so the Mids went to 10 as well.

Yes, I use this amp often, no new feelings, I turn it on and kick the SD-1/808 and it has THAT high gain sound.

In 1992 you had the father SLO which was mega expensive, the Rectifier which was super expensive, and the 5150 for 799$, the choice was easy.

My recollection when it was released was the opinion was “waaaaaaay more gain than evh wtf?!?!?!” And quickly “but killer amp nonetheless!!!!”
