Ones that got away - amp edition

Do I really miss amps I can't actually use to their fullest potential these days?

I am thinking of you Block Letter 5150. :hugitout

Back in the late 80s I used to trade Marshall plexis to collectors in other countries. I should have kept at least one . You could get them in junk shops for less than £100 because nobody wanted them. Park and Orange also very cheap. £50 -£60. All worth 4x+ anywhere else.

VHT100CL

I've had the 100 and the 50 along with an early 1994 Ultra Lead.

There was no comparison to any of them. The 100CL smokes.

Would still love to try an updated UL one day. I do see the 100CL available once in a while so it isn't like a CCV that you just can't get for example but I loved that amp, regret selling and one day would like another.

Back in late 80's, went to local guitar store (not Guitar Center) to buy a 100W Marshall half stack.

They first told me they had an old plexi 4 holer for sale, but I wanted new.

Walked out with a JCM800 2210. :facepalm

I've bought and sold a lot of amps over the years, and the only one I sold that I wish I still had was my Soldano HR100+. I sold it mainly because I couldn't get along with the Soldano loop. If I had kept it, I could have had the loop modded (fixed).

I miss my VibroKing periodically and even contemplate getting another but then I remember it was 90lbs and crazy loud.

Maybe not quite in line with the topic but I saw a Ground Zero MOAB on Reverb a few months back (which is a very rare thing to pop up in the EU); exchanged a few messages with the owner but hesitated..when I had my mind made up - poof - it was gone :facepalm
