This got delivered yesterday, so I intend to spend all afternoon playing with it:
Initial impression: It's awesome.
I owned one of these when they came out and I thought it was a cool amp, but I really needed a clean channel. I don't need a clean channel now. I still don't like Ch1 for cleans, but it's great if you want a little hair on them. Also has a cool Marshally bark to it that I'm curious to shoot out against my 101b. Ch2 is awesome. It's tight as hell and requires no boost at all, unlike the Rev Blues I've had. I don't know why this version of the Uber doesn't get more love. I haven't tried the Ultra yet, but I've owned the Blue, Green and this one and the TJ is definitely my favorite![]()

Dang, that's disappointing. Was hoping I could use it as my main practice rig but if it sounds that sad, I'll just plug into one of my big amps.Welp, the 1 Watt Amp into Cab scenario was a one and done kind of thing.
Not a lot of body or oomph.... which is understandable. Kind of pre-ampy.
Again, understandable.![]()

1 W is never going to hit the way that big iron can for high gain. Try playing it into the effects return of your Trem-O-Verb.Welp, the 1 Watt Amp into Cab scenario was a one and done kind of thing.

Probably going to enjoy it more in a DI setting for recording and playing
into and through a DAW. Much like the Engl E530. Just a different flavour.

My buddy laughs at me but all I do is mulch my leaves lol - with a push mowerI mulched the H#LL out of some leaves the other day!

Why would you expect a Dekiverance to be that? It exists because of folks moaning that the Ultra Lead is to immediate.So..... after a week or so of playing I am not sure I would put the Fryette in the "tight/dry/fast"
amp category. I had a Deliverance 60 Head that was not as immediate as my JCM800 at the
time----even if it was bigger/wider in terms of its footprint.
Now, comparing the Engl E530 and the Fryette GPDI/IR the immediacy is VERY stark. The Engl
is just so much more forward and immediate on the pick attack. The Fryette is great, but it is
looser with more of a Vintage feel in attack than the Engl. I am not sure you can get more
"Modern" than the Engl.
Just thoughts/perspectives.![]()
Different strokes, I like it enough that I actually run loaded down stuff, or preamp outs into it, and into a cab as a practice amp.Welp, the 1 Watt Amp into Cab scenario was a one and done kind of thing.
