I recorded that video off MTV back in the day. Watched it over and over. Loved the song and the video was telling a story which was classic late’80s. Still love the song. Just my era I suppose.

MTV era music videos were tons of fun. Here in Finland we also got the German VIVA channels that had a weird combination of everything from German Eurobeat to pop, rap, rock and metal. We're talking Captain Jack -> Vengaboys -> NSync -> Rammstein -> Snoop Dogg.
Of course as a rock/metal fan I was like "Man, now I have to wait through this crap again. I hope the next song is something good!"

It was the exact same thing with MTV here in America. You had to sit through four or five pop/new wave videos just to catch something you really wanted to see.
