You must have taken my post out of context.

It was directed at Tim who never buys anything and was suggesting that the YouTubers could give away the gear they receive.

That sparked an idea on how Tim could get free gear.

I bet most of those guys are gear Wh*res so they get shit for free and it just sits around and they get the next thing for free. They use it. They do videos and then their whole house probably has all these units laying around.

Yeah, and quite unfortunately there's no decent exchange market for modelers <-> hottubs.

I think everyone who is bitching about YT-ers getting free gear should start their own YT channel reviewing gear and see if you can get free stuff.

IMO, it's a lot more work than you think it is and since it's going on as much as it is, it has to be good for both parties.

You're basically right. But in case you're interested in this kinda gear, the YT algorithm adjustments hardly allow you to escape from that stuff. Look up any recently released gear and it's extremely tough to not be drowned in tons of sponsored videos. And once the videos are sponsored, they all do at least have a certain length, so you can't even quickly find the relevant information (if there even is any).

Yeah..Offcourse that’s true/happens…I get a gazzlion vids in my feed where I only hear chuggachagga…which irritates me…but 95% of gear nerds are metalheads…YT does what YT does…I choose to use YT…so I deal with it.
I mean…they are all gear nerds like us…with seemingly integer/transparant intentions…and a mother who loves them. In soccer terms(in my country at least): Play the ball (which you did, kinda ), not the player.

I just want to know why it’s universally ok to talk shit about actors, athletes, musicians, politicians, and other people that we watch on cable TV, but not YouTubers.

IMO, if you put yourself out there, you’d better have the spine to deal with the critics. And that’s exactly what TJ does.
