Matchless...6L6 powered offerings?

6V6 Laurel Canyon was a departure (love mine).

So far, I cannot get Phil Jamison to commit to anything on the subject. The LC is unlike any other Matchless I own.

Anybody have any insight into this?

Matchless and 6L6 just seem like an odd combination to me… For me the whole Matchless thing has always been rooted in Brit characteristics - Vox/Marshall/Hiwatt.

The tonal characteristics of Matchless don’t seem well suited to 6L6 tubes to me
