Line 6 Helix Stadium

Yeah, I'm surprised the REVV made it in before any Boogies as well, but if I'm being honest....I dial my Recto sounds (usually goosed with the Precision Drive with the "Attack" knob up a good bit) in a way that's in the vicinity of where the REVV Red channel starts by default.

Just like I love playing with different modded Marshall variants, but when I listen to my Placater, Ecstasy, EV Panama Blue and Soldano patches back to back.....I dial each of them toward a single type of tone too.
I’m a rapidly aging old fart who never was very quick and I’m getting slower. I do enjoy amps like the ones you’re mentioning a great deal but I really enjoyed several others more - for example the Matchless in the Helix Native demo I had (I’ve never had helix hardware). I also really liked the Dumble and also some of the line 6 creations. I’ll be happy to get those again when I get the stadium but for me, I’d like those in the Agoura format at some point.

I’ve never owned (or played) an actual rectifier - the various digital versions I’ve been exposed to over the years have not made my ears as happy as other things I had so I’m not personally missing what I’ve never had. It might be I’ve never heard a superb one, it might be they don’t suit me, it might be I just don’t much care for the sound. Any of those is possible! I clearly like some things in those general directions - I had great fun with Doom, the Bognor Shiva and a few of the others in Helix so there’s hope for me yet :)

A question about focus view and the control knobs for DI or anyone who saw it at the weekend.

If you are on a preset and you drag your finger to a particular point on the focus view screen, you see all the controls adjust in real time.

If you leave the cursor at that point on the screen, let’s say the treble is at 5. If you then turn the treble up to 10….. what happens when you touch the focus screen cursor once more? Does your treble go back down to the original value *at that point of the screen* ? I expect that’s what it does but just curious if that’s how it behaves or something else?

Try this stand

I know. I won't get a Stadium that early anyway, maybe I'll be late by 3-4 years again, just as with the OG Helix.
It’s not like it’s going anywhere. I’ll be there in 2 to 3 years so no rush.

The only wrinkle here is that a lot of the people who would prefer the smaller form factor for desktop studio applications are also the users most likely to make use of the extra I/O, which will frequently go unused in floor/live applications. But it (size restraints) is what it is…
It seems the scribble strips are much clearer than the old helix. Maybe that’s just not true. I’m not sure if it’s the same or what but the resolution and the writing seems a lot more clearer with the scribble strips

Its game over for all the competition guys, Glenn liked the Helix Stadium a lot! In all seriousness, I had a chat with him after he tried it and he genuinely was impressed with the realism of the amp tones. I thought that was pretty cool! In his words he said "gotta give credit where credit is due".
That is saying a lot in the yt world.. thanx for sharing

JOHN, I would like to know what you think if you played the bluamp x? Thomas really didn’t look very healthy and he acted very scattered as usual. I always put a lot of work into this thing but I’m just curious if you had a chance to play it actually or not.

This might sound weird but I almost did no playing. More talking and socializing but I have my fingers crossed that Thomas will send one to me at some point... He seemed fine to me to be honest. These conventions take a lot of energy and work, so I imagine he was just tired perhaps?

Not really of much interest to me, but yes I’m sure ALL of the displays benefit from advances in the corresponding technology. I have no trouble giving up the scribble strips (apart from the clarity and convenience they afford when paired with the capacitive context switching.) Extra I/O on the other hand… Hopefully there will be some cool expansion options down the line.

It did link to a monitor stand for me for what it’s worth lmao (I have the stand he linked and aside from it being ugly, it works lol)
Sorry it looked like a pretty heavy duty music kind of stand. I guess you could put a monitor on it, but you could also put the helix on it. Sorry if the LinkedIn work it was a stupid deal of today thing.

For everyone who wants to hear more medium-to-high gain clips, here's someone going through all of the Stadium amp models from lowest to highest-gain (I cue it up right at the 2203) with his finest Guitar Center licks....

What did I just watch (skim through)?
