Spoiler alert…Fucking hell I'm 6minutes in and he HAS SAID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!
He can't get to a point, which seems to be very simple: eventually the QC will be superseded by something better, while that vintage tube amp will be useful for decades.I don't get it.....what's so bad here? I mean sure, he had an ad in there (which I fast forwarded through lol), but other than that he did exactly what goes on here 24/7......he talked about guitar gear and played some guitar.........and as far as I know, it didn't cost me a dime.......View attachment 51684
Yes, like I said.....how is this any different than the stuff you read on this very forum on any given day?He can't get to a point, which seems to be very simple: eventually the QC will be superseded by something better, while that vintage tube amp will be useful for decades.
Which is a false premise - the QC will be useful too even if there is something better. If anything maybe it's something someone on a budget can afford easier and be happy using.
This is complete drivel that could be a YT Short.

Also timbuck3, how the fuck do you choose which thread to post a completely unrelated video?
I don’t want to watch any of you guys talk about gear either.I don't get it.....what's so bad here? Reading and participating in a discussion are very different from being talked at.He's just indulging in guitar geekery, as are the rest of us who spend countless hours on forums discussing the same trivialities over and over ad nauseam.
Yeah, he's trying to make some money along the way as a content creator...ok, so are hundreds of others. FWIW, I'm not a Rhett fan....I don't like his style....but I don't see what's so egregious about the video.
Back in the day when we didn't have any videos like this - something like this would have been amazing. Now we're a little spoiled and have all turned into sourpusses. People are so fickle. Coming back to tones, I though he coaxed some good tones in that video.

Because we're likable?Yes, like I said.....how is this any different than the stuff you read on this very forum on any given day?

Imagine if everyone wrote three paragraphs of irrelevant text to get to the point they want to make. Then didn't bother with any discussion about what they said. Then tried to monetize it.Yes, like I said.....how is this any different than the stuff you read on this very forum on any given day?
we call that RedditImagine if everyone wrote three paragraphs of irrelevant text to get to the point they want to make. Then didn't bother with any discussion about what they said. Then tried to monetize it.
Yeah I thought the same thing - People still use and like old digital stuff say like a Boss RV-5 :) Or a lexicon or a whammy pedal....which seems to be very simple: eventually the QC will be superseded by something better, while that vintage tube amp will be useful for decades.

We don't know. No one knows and if a dealer says they do, they're lying. My only remaining question is ... ship date for the XL!
There really is no plan B.Imagine earning money doing that
I would agree to some extent with RS on software gear. Unless of course you keep your computers around as instruments too... which some still do. People are still using digital hardware synths and pedals that are 30 or 40 years old still. That's pretty dang good. Maybe the rehashing of his kind of argument is old, because in some ways it's too generalized and a lot of us have already made peace or come to an understanding with similar philosophical meanderings. Having a beastly tube amp and cab is a very solid and timeless platform, it's easy to get romantic about it for a lot of legitimate reasons.Yeah I thought the same thing - People still use and like old digital stuff say like a Boss RV-5 :) Or a lexicon or a whammy pedal.
TL;DR "Modelers are computers, and they become obsolete. Tube amps won't. Or rather, they're already obsolete. So it doesn't matter. Or something. Look at my beard."Fucking hell I'm 6minutes in and he HAS SAID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!
