@Digital Igloo I know you're pretty busy already with so many planned features for the next year(s), but I wonder if vocal effects (harmonies with formants, voice enhancers, de-esser, etc) are considered for a distant future or a not so distant one.

Also, I would like to know if something like Waves MaxxBass would ever arrive to Helix. Such a useful effect that would be so cool to have directly in Native.

Possibly with the 2 new Agoura amps DI mentioned ,fingers crossed would be a killer Christmas gift , then you have Namm w probably some proxy info a month later

Release it early. Give people a chance to use Stadium and get used to the workflow and main features. Then add Showcase before the end of the year. Showcase really needs it's own release with tutorial videos and such.

I honestly cant imagine anyone having an issue with Showcase being in 1.2 and he hardware hitting people hands earlier.

The only concern I have is people high up on the preorder list who end up not liking Showcase for whatever reason ("I thought it'd be Ableton Live in hardware!") but 1.2 might land outside their return window.

Gotta say, they kinda screwed it up for the rest of us. Now any time a company doesn't deliver everything perfectly on time, they'll be compared to XXX. Now we gotta deal with writing sustaining press releases and $#!‡.

Stadium's release shouldn't be affected by XL's release date in the slightest, but XL backorder fulfillment might impact it. Regardless, we're still targeting the Winter window. Hardware is rock solid and firmware is so close to XL that it's not nearly as big a lift as Helix LT was to Helix Floor.

The current plan is to make 1.1 the production build for Stadium, and 1.2 will have been out by then so that'd likely be the day one download, even if we ultimately decide to ship XL with 1.1 in December with Showcase.

This one was just confirmed yesterday: While we fully intend to deliver everything THIS FALL (Proxy notwithstanding), Showcase has turned out to be the deciding factor on when this fall. If the public insists that 1.1 includes Showcase, yeah—it's likely gonna be December. If most people are okay with 1.1 not including Showcase, we have an opportunity to ship Stadium XL much earlier. If we indeed do this, Showcase would then appear in 1.2 (along with perhaps an extra Agoura amp or two!) and the goal would be to deliver 1.2 by December 20, which is STILL WITHIN THE FALL WINDOW. We haven't decided yet. To be honest, it's really kinda up to all of you. Do you want Stadium XL with Showcase in December or Stadium XL without Showcase much sooner, knowing it can be added in December?

Put me down as a very solid vote in the "Save Showcase for 1.2" camp. If the hardware is ready and Showcase is the only thing delaying release, I don't think anyone would want you to delay until December if you don't have to.

I say release the hardware asap. Everybody already knows they can depend on Line 6 to provide updates, nobody is going to think you’ll pull a NDSP after Helix’s track record for updates. People already know they have to wait for proxy, which is probably a bigger deal for more people than showcase, myself not included.

Almost what I expected. But whenever I see other companies releasing major updates I feel kinda impressed. But I guess you know your game. ...and saw through my trickery making you release early.

I think people who are buying it specifically for showcase are a very minor percentage of the total preorder peeps.

And for the one or two that are bummed they didn’t get to try out showcase within their preorder window - they can return it and then re-purchase it later when showcase comes out and try it again then.


I also agree with the above posts that showcase is so new/different and feature rich - that I think it would be a GOOD thing to be an update after the initial launch with adequate tutorials and promotion around it.

Capture the core buyers in the first round now. Then potentially grab a new set of buyers in December. Perfect for Yamaha’s EOY revenues!!

As someone who preordered the XL, my vote is to not wait on Showcase. It sounds cool, and I'll probably at least attempt to use it, but its presence (short term or long term) won't determine whether I want to keep the XL or not.
