The good news is is if they get the XL out by say November and the regular stadium ships a few months later you will likely get and update or 2 already installed or ready for you day one

My response to this is mostly "don't care; want it now" LOL, but having closer to full functionality within the return window is a clear benefit. Not that I'm likely to give it back, from all I've seen. :)

I agree getting into that December 15th window is a very challenging time to ship
Releasing hardware mid to late November (if possible )and following up with an update people can load in December or early in the new year is a much better plan me thinks

Edit I am not worried though my dealer says it should be in stock before Halloween trick or treat?

Not sure how the non-XL schedule compares with the XL, but honestly all of these ETAs are earlier than I expected. I guess I'd better get around to telling my wife I ordered one of these things.

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I’m kinda glad the days of amps are behind me and that it’s be becoming more the norm than the exception to have a silent stage. I get the perfect monitor mix every single time. I hear exactly the tone I want no matter where I am on stage. There’s no variance in tone over time. And my hearing is preserved.

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I’m kinda glad the days of amps are behind me and that it’s be becoming more the norm than the exception to have a silent stage. It's definitely not the norm here in the UK.

You have to think about it in similar terms of comparison between corporations, and small medium enterprises. It is very easy to point at Google and go "look at how much money they make!" but that doesn't mean SME's make nothing.

Likewise, it is easy to point at the big stadium pop acts and go "look, they're all DI'd to the buttholes!" but most bands playing at your local level, the smaller and mid-tier levels, are still using amps by and large.

And actually, it is those levels we should be supporting as musicians, because it is where we came from, where a lot of us currently are, and where most of us will die.

Personally, I don't like quiet stages. I also usually don't like IEMs. But I defenitely like less loud stages, so amps being a thing of the past for me is helping quite a great deal. Still depends a lot on the drummer, though (and I hate e-kits for anything but electronic sounds).

Hm. Sorry but no. We can happily discuss about the actual level of "those levels", but very often, club gigs, especially in case it's any kind of harder style, are spoiled by the sound being too loud. Or rather: not well defined. A lot of it has to do with bands falling short of any kind of "stage discipline". And no, they more often than not don't sound great on their own, with the PA turned off, either.
As said multiple times in the horror-thread already (and in my last post), no, I don't like e-drums. But I like drummers being in control of their sound. Many of them simply aren't, especially some tunes in. They will smash their kit as if there's no tomorrow. As if their were working out in a gym rather than playing music. It's actually not all that different for bassists and guitarists, but these do at least have volume knobs.

I absolutely do that. But they could as well at least somehow try to get their act together. Seriously, it's been quite often that I actually liked some bands but had to leave earlier because, while they could play, they were unable to deliver a good sound. A silent stage wouldn't make the sound better but at least you'd only find the sound bad and not ruin your ears in addition.

I got a message through Bandmix recently (in fact I've had a few!) of local bands inviting me to audition. Then you go and see their music and it's like....

I've been REALLY fucking lucky with the quality of musicians I've worked with over the years. Incredibly so.

Basically: Do you want everything on the list by the tail end of Fall (hopefully) or a slightly truncated list earlier, given that the missing items would be made available in a firmware update by the tail end of Fall (again, hopefully)?

I get that this is likely a rhetorical question, but I have a standing preorder and if it were to ship prior to 10/15 or so I'd have a problem being there to receive/sign for it due to being away from home until then. I'd be okay with it showing up mid-fall (say, first half of November) with some of the hoped-for at-launch stuff still needing an update or two. But I'm not going to melt down if nothing ships until the tail end of fall (which to me is ~ mid-December. The thing I'm most interested to try out first is the new Agoura amp models, so hopefully those will mostly be ready to go when it ships.

I'm fortunate to have a group of true friends who have aged and created families together, plus we've evolved musically together. We still write, record and gig the heavy stuff every so often, but we've been delving a lot into funk and 80's-style pop rock lately (Can't fight the nostalgia of when you grew up but for so long...).
