Line 6 Helix Stadium

I will say at some point it will have the Silver Jubillee or Slash Jubillee amp
It’s been on the most requested for years with XTC and 5153

If other line6 folks frequent this forum a Mesa Badlander

Mesa Badlander would be a slam dunk, scratching the "modded Marshall", "modern amp", "Stadium exclusive/first" and "Agoura Mesa" itches all at the same time. I would think that has to be in the queue already.

Silver Jubes would be cool. It's not a grail amp for me, although I've only played a real-life one twice. JVM410h would be my preference, and if they didn't get that I'd say add a Bogner Snorkler or Helios, since Reinhold seems to ever be Line 6-adjacent.

Yes. The Song List looks nearly identical to the Preset List. Each song saves up to 8 stereo tracks/stems, hundreds of flags, a handful of song-specific parameters, and if Matrix is set to "Per Song," three layers of the Matrix monitor mixer. Otherwise, the Matrix is global.

So do songs also include a preset, or can you change presets within a song?

Sorry, trying to wrap my mind around how this is going to work.

Presets aren't embedded into the song, no, but each song's Start flag recalls the desired preset and snapshot, subsequent Marker flags can change the preset and/or snapshot, and you can also add dedicated Preset/Snap flags to recall specific presets and/or snapshots during the song (which are really only useful if you want a change but don't want a marker at the same location).

I get it. I absolutely rushed into making a Stadium XL preorder as soon as possible on after the 10th anniversary presentation, and I told myself once the initial glow wore off, I'd revisit the decision and cancel it if need be.

But I'm pretty much at the same place, even though I just had a great gig/recordingsession with my FM9 and will do several more before Sept./Oct./Nov. when it'll actually be in my hands.

The FM9 is an amazing piece of gear, but I want a bit more in terms of usability and fun than I think either it is capable of or than Cliff is willing to invest in his products.

I’m not really an early adopter for these things anymore, just a personal preference.

The feature change that pushed me over the edge with Helix was when they added the M series stuff.

The thing that converted me to fractal was the gapless preset switching. This was at a time when I was tired of running external pedals with helix to shore up for lack of dsp and the reverbs not being to my liking.

Very possible that at some point stadium hits critical mass of stuff I care about that pulls me back to L6. They’re focused more on the song and track stuff at launch which is super awesome just not something I need right now.

Ain't naan wrong with that. I get avoiding the early adopter thing too. I would only do it anymore for a company I implicitly trust because of lots of great personal experiences.

Both Fractal and Line 6 meet that criteria. I don't think one can go wrong with either one.

Boy here we go a newborn Unit and people are already asking for every amp on the globe and under the sun, We want the next 20-30 Firmware Updates Now or at least at release time!!!

That’s just the way it goes. It’s probably one of the most annoying habits of the modeler-user community. The second a new (and probably highly derivative) amp is released, it’s requested in the modeler.

Proxy should help with that, I think. (I hope.)

Agreed proxy should help
Because you will never please everyone look at Fractal 300 amp channels and people are still asking for new amps

Probably better than no one giving a rat's ass what's in Stadium, what it does, or what it might do some day. Usually money/sales flow right behind such interest and impatience. And the fun thing is if Stadium is a success, it'll be the same 5 years from now. I'll probably still be on my 4140 kick then too. ;)

Oh, not at all. Showcase doesn't even exist in 1.0. Boot a brand new Helix Stadium XL on day one, press the Song button, and a dialog pops up asking you to update the Firmware to 1.1 (which should be available by that time).

My bad, I thought that was the big new thing out of the box. I got lost somewhere in all the threads and videos. Now that I think about it, Agoura was the big new thing I guess. Showcase was the thing that really grabbed my attention more than anything, seemed like a really cool idea.

I’m an early adopter in other places, and used to be for modelers, but not anymore. The current crop is good enough that I don’t feel a need to be early with a new one. Of course something could always be mind blowing enough to change that.

For now, the stuff I care most about (dsp, routing, quality of certain effects) is done best by fractal. Stadium appears to address some of that already. If it crosses the other items off my list, I’ll probably end up with stadium as the helix is my favorite so far with regard to using the hardware. With the fractal, unless something is busted and I have to fix it right then at a gig or rehearsal, I don’t even try to use the hardware.

There’s also something to be said for getting maximum life out of a product by getting in early.

I think people are just wondering exactly what this thing is gonna have in it
I mean, I think that’s totally acceptable to think that and wonder
The boxes of checks for me are the interface touchscreen ease of use hopefully and an in depth, possibly very unique looper system
I do wish they had more of whatever it’s gonna be like in there upon release but I understand and I think I’m just gonna go with it and see what happens

No, I will be 100% honest the first helix as I said I bought when it first came out. I think I got a really good deal again like 20% off or something but I tried it for my 45 days and I just was not impressed with it and I know that was what 10 years ago And honestly, I haven’t tried it again since those 10 years which I know things seem to have changed a lot in the helix, but my question two guys out there is if you don’t like the helix sound 10 years ago is it possible you may not like it now no matter what they do to it? Or release? I am unsure.
I haven’t really followed the helix updates in the last 10 years, but I do notice a lot of guys having to put a lot of different EQ‘s on amps pre-and post to get it to sound the way they wanna get it to sound and I’m the kind of person who doesn’t really wanna fiddle with that kind of stuffThat’s why I do like amps a lot where you just plug-in you turn the knobs you have there and you get a sound that’s enjoyable to you if not, you just tweak the few knobs you have and go with it.

You'll know closer to shipping date.
