Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

The IIc+ is great! Immediate chunk action - dialing now.

I had something really strange that just happened: I created a new very simple patch with the Mark 2C+, saved it. Then went to update the Helix Stadium app on my PC. When I came back to the Stadium XL, the amp block was empty/gone, as if I had deleted it.

I recalled the patch and it was there again. Weird.

On a positive note, the update process is stellar and very simple.

I'm loving it, especially with V30's. It can definitely be aggressive, and the mid control is really effective in that. I think this is going to be one of my favorites.

The new IIC+ is going to take some getting used to. Absolutely odd and awful stock settings and cab, but I was able to get it somewhere decent in a couple of minutes. Not a Mark IV for sure.
I'm still hoping for an Agoura-fied Mark IV. It will come, one day, that's for sure.

But amazing update Line 6. Please continue in this direction. Much love sent to your direction !

The Jubilee sounds great in the Signal Theory vid.
Thanks so much!

How are y'all not getting more love around here for that intro?!?!?

I had to doublecheck to see if Sean Price was playing Galactic Empire, the SW-themed metal band.

That aside, the rest of the video ripped too. Good stuff! Does Sean do any of the dialing in for your presets?
Ha well that Star Wars thing was a ton of fun to put together. We used some Galactic Empire stuff as the inspiration. Really appreciate that. Sean helps me dial in all the higher gain presets we make - everything in the past 12-18 months or so.

Is there a possibility that you are running 1.2 on your Stadium, but you application on your computer is still at 1.1?

I’m super pumped that Line 6 added a real deal Mark IIC+ to Stadium, but they didn’t add any factory presets for it (and the default Focus Zones aren’t the best starting points), so I made one for all of my gainheads out there.

It’s got seven Snapshots that function almost like a kitchen sink:
  1. Chorclean: Simple clean tone with some not-too-airy reverb and an Ampeg Liquifier chorus in front smoothing it out.
  2. Crush: Pure savagery dialed in like a Mark should be with subtle reverb. Perfect palm muting and rhythms.
  3. Lead: Crush with more mids, delay, reverb and a wah on by default (Go full heel down to disengage the wah).
  4. Octocrush: Filthy octaved version of Crush.
  5. Crunchy8s: Slightly gained down version of Crush with 8th dotted delay for cool rhythm parts.
  6. Greasy: @2112 inspired this. It’s Crush with his HX micro pitch settings after the amp/cab. Sounds proper dirty and great for riffing.
  7. Clouds: Super ambient clean for strummed chords. Adds a Ganymede reverb parallel to the Dynamic Plate and the delays.
Crammed a lot into this preset including compressor, two big reverbs, multiple delays, multiple pitch blocks (There’s even a dormant PolyCapo at the beginning for you lot that like to retune on the fly), amp, dual cabs, and modulating chorus.

See attached.

EDIT: Something is up with this preset not saving my amp settings at all. As it stands right now, multiple people have confirmed it just shows an empty ghost block where the amp should be. Going to refresh the firmware and then delete and redownload the Stadium app. Hopefully, that'll clear things up, but don't download the preset for now.

Tried your preset but no amp block actually loaded ?

I'm on 1.2 on both the firmaware and the app.

Switching snapshots has not effect on the sound. Actually everything sounds like a pure DI signal going through all the blocks without any of them bein effective. Weird.

Sorry about that. You're not the only one, and I don't understand exactly what's going on.

I edited my original post to warn people away from it for now, but when I get home I'm going to try and refresh both the unit firmware and the stadium app to the absolute latest and see if that fixes it.

I had a very similar thing happen with Mikah912's patch, only it was weirder. Download it. Loaded it. Played a bit and was loving it. Switched to a snapshot, and suddenly realized the amp was gone. There was still a spot for it, but it was empty, and I could not pull up an amp in that location.

I deleted the patch, reloaded the copy, and it came up with no amp from the very beginning. I deleted the patch again, deleted the downloaded copy, RE-downloaded it, reinstalled it — and got the same thing. Mikah said he'd try rebuilding the patch, but I have no idea what kind of weird voodoo is happening there.

Sorry guys. Going to try and get it fixed tonight.

I'm hoping it's just a mismatch between older versions of either the firmware or the Stadium app.

I'll tag you both once a new version is up in the next couple of hours.

I downloaded it and there was no amp block at all right from the beginning. Weird how some of these bugs are manifesting differently.

We said to ourselves, 'Let's make this one more concise'. And it was still an hour long, haha. But we opened with STAR WARS, so that's fun...

I'm not a high gain guy, but I really like the Mesa 2C+. My buddy Sean is my go-to for higher gain tones, and he really likes it, too. I've had some experience with a Silver Jubilee, and I really like that amp - I think they nailed it, and you can get a ton of tones out of it. And of course, the Super is awesome.

Showcase is a lot of fun - can't wait to get a bunch of tracks in Stadium to just play along with at any time.

That Super Reverb sounds just right! Great job there!

Here's a weird one: The Tap LED setting no longer toggles between flashing and off, it toggles between flashing and steady. I'm not sure I hate it, but it seems like it would be nice to be able to turn that LED ring off if you want it off.

Anyone mess with Showcase yet? From the overview video it looks pretty awesome. I always wanted to mess with automation like this but didn't want to deal with the laptop and midi etc.
