Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

I was recording the unboxing of my new Helix Stadium and everything was going smoothly… until my dog Frida decided she wanted to be part of the demo in her own way 😂
Sharing this here because it made me laugh — hope it brings a smile to someone else too!

This is the stupid crap I'm talking about

I'm not curious how these work together. I'm here to see how to link a new cabinet to an amp block; not here to see how you stealthily increase those sweet YT dividends by diluting the product video with some other turd and shill presets I'm never going to buy in a million years.
I get irrationally angry when I watch Sadites. I literally can’t make it through a video 😂

I don't have any personal problem with Jason Sadites, he provides a service for people who need walk-throughs, but that's a service I don't personally need. His videos could be improved by being more concise, and to all reviewers out there, you don't need to constantly clarify that all your impressions are in-your-opinion.

I think I found the answer to my own question. This something Eric posted on TOP in response to a similar question:

"If an amp is "paired" with a cab block [link icons appear], it will use the speaker impedance curve that results from the amp and the specific cab model selected. If the amp is paired with an IR or unpaired [no link icons], it will use the speaker impedance curve associated with that amp paired with its default cab model."

After reading this, I realized that a lot of my presets did not have an amp-cab link because I had turned off the "add a cab" toggle in the amp block. I figured I would be choosing my own cab anyway. Also if I have multiple amps in a preset, I didn't want it loading an extra cab. I can't figure out in this scenario how to re-link them manually.

What does work is when you have the "add a cab" set to on, it will load a factory default linked cab. Then if you change to a different cab, the link goes away. To re-link it, drag the amp block over and touch the cab block on the touch screen and it will re-link them.

Based on this info, you might want to check if the amp-cab link is there if anything sounds weird. It might be using the default cab impedance curve instead of the one for the cab you have selected.
How does the original Helix behave in this situation? In all these years I’ve never heard mention of this regarding the OG.

There is no speaker impedance curve interaction between the blocks in the Helix.
I remember a question about this in an interview about how this would work in Stadium and it was said that it did actually work on the original Helix but only if you used an amp+cab block. I can't remember where I heard that so I can't be sure. I can't seem to find a source on that. I don't recall hearing about that before in the past. I tried one on multiple occasions, but didn't own one, so it wasn't something I was paying attention to. I think most people tend to use a separate cab block so that dual cabs can be used.

On original Helix, the impedance curve for the default cab is always used. This is the case both for Amp blocks and Amp+Cab blocks.

We don't suggest that to @JiveTurkey. Since it's originally a Catalyst amp, he'll break into hives even trying.

He no like digital "original" amps from anybody.

Here's a question RE: multiple footswitch assignments.

You toggle through them by tapping the capacitive switch they are linked to. How do you remove ONE of the linked blocks on a multiple switch? As far as I can see; you jump to that assigned block by touching the switch repeatedly but then there is no "remove" option when you tap the effect block like you would if you were assigning the switch to that block. Is there a way to do it on the device itself?

@ccc118 I tried the speaker link trick by bumping amp and cab but it didn't work. Or I did it wrong :bag

I'll see if I can explain it in a better way or make a short vid. I'll PM you.
