Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

Can you record a DI and slap it into a Showcase mix and then route just that DI through the Stadium's engine? That'd make an incredible lot of sense as you could tweak your patches in context. So, is that possible?

You can do that now just by plopping a looper at the front of the chain — but in an eventual update, you'll be able to add a dry clip to a preset for tweaking, similar to the clips in the factory presets.

I know all that (the pre-looper option was already existing in the old HX series and I used it a lot), but I was really explicitely curious about an integration into Showcase, which would allow in-context patch editing, something I always had to use a DAW and either HX Native or re-amping for.

My turn to get pissed at the Helix Stadium now. For some reason updating is utterly painful.

Spent about 30 minutes downloading the update on my Mac and got this…

But if I try and download it on the Helix itself I get this and it never changes…

Any ideas? WiFi works fine for everything else. Why did it download it on the app if I can’t send it to the Helix?

I got my unit today and since I couldn’t log in on the device (a generic 123456 code was showing which got me nowhere, and the QR code didn’t appear.)

I downloaded the Line 6 Central software and connected via usb c. Then the firmware notice popped up there and I got the XL up to 1.2 (and could also log in!)

Are you also connected via usb C?

Are you signed in on the hardware itself? Check that first and then try downloading on the hardware again. The update on the app should be for the app itself.

Definitely signed in to the hardware device. What’s Line 6 central? I have the Helix Stadium app on my Mac.

Connected via WiFi, don’t think you can connect to the app via USB currently?

There’s an app called line 6 central (I’m on Mac so don’t know if it’s there for windows) and I had to do everything over usb C since I couldn’t log in before updating. Give the cable a shot

In other news, It's still sounding pretty good to me. Haven't noticed anything weird going on with Agoura, though I haven't gone for crazy high gain yet. Dirty sounds all work fine for me.

Did a quick test of the old and new 2203. The riff goes round four times, alternating between the old and new 2203 each time. Any idea if the Agoura is 1 & 3 or 2 & 4? Same settings on both amps, same IR used, all on the device.

For my money there are subtle differences but both sound good. I like the sound of the old one a bit better but the new one feels and reacts much better and is nicer to play.

Just listening on AirPods atm but I like 2 and 4 best. Sounds bigger in the low end and a bit gainier (almost like 1 and 3 were played softer by comparison).
