Kemper Profiler MK 2

There are solutions out there (and they are multiplying) where they do the modelling aspect much more effectively than Kemper and now there are things that do both.
Many others do modelling more extensively for sure. For example, fractal models the master volume of amps quite well. This can change the tone massively, like it often happens with real amps. For me it's integral to finding a tone I like.

But nobody offers a capturing solution where the captures themselves are tweak-able the way Kemper profiles are. Their definition control, for example, is very powerful, and can also alter the sound substantially. Liquid profiling, even if limited, is combined with profiles a unique way.

Personally, I never tweaked Kemper profiles much at all, but liquid profiling wasn't out then.

The new profiling was running in the Guitar Summit booth. Didn’t get a chance to try it myself but everyone I spoke to who did said it sounds fantastic.

Have there been any reports about Kemper's new profiling from anyone in the army of youtubers at Guitar Summit? I haven't seen any. This is the first indication I've seen that Kemper is demonstrating anything. Maybe they are being sworn to secrecy. Or maybe they don't think it's newsworthy?

You’re a gent to say so - I am sure they will do a great job with their new profiling and it’s great to hear this from someone. It’s just a shame that it’s you saying it rather than them!! It is insane to throw resources at a show where, till now, the only person I’ve heard so far saying they’ve heard the new profiling is the product manager for a competitor.

I just wish they’d actually communicate with their user base in a way that approaches normality. I completely get that there are things you can tell the market and there are things you cannot. In your role, you live and breath this - you answer what you can, you also sometimes say ‘that’s a future, I can’t talk about it now’. And very few people here give you shit for that approach because you’ve said *something* and they have the confidence that you’ve been as open as you can be right now based upon your throwing people bones as often as you can. You make it look natural and easy which is a compliment because doing this stuff elegantly is neither.

Sure, you can’t please everyone - there are fanboys that defend everything. There are haters. There are tons of reasonable people in the middle that just want info and will accept it. I am not, and never have been, trying to give these guys a hard time. I would encourage them to look at (for example) *your* public communications during this show when you’re launching something shiny and realise that there is a better way. I want them to thrive - I’m buying a Stadium but I have a lot of love for my toaster and hope they can support happy customers for many years. They are being even more ‘them’ than usual right now.

Just a bit weird, not much info on it, no release date. Basically nothing, besides hearing feedback from a handful of users - saying that it sounds good.

Anyone here get a chance to play it at the Summit?

I think it would be difficult to judge how good the new profiling is against regular profiling, in the context of the summit though.

It would be better if they did. Will that happen? I would probably be more likely to place a bet that a comet hits the earth tomorrow than Kemper changing their ways. Meaning: I think trying to influence them positively, on that front, is probably a waste of time and energy.

I don't think being quiet before something is ready for release is unusual. The way Line6 is communicating about the Stadium is the unusual case, not the norm. And even then, they kept it secret until it was almost ready for release.

People often mention "The Kemper Way" as if being quiet is unique to them, but I don't think it is. What is the Kemper way IMHO is having disorganized communication. The announcement on the web page earlier this year was a mess and they had to edit it several times. The next thing that comes from Kemper several months later is a vague and sloppy video from Guitar Summit. I'm sorry to say it, but that is the Kemper way.

some comments I saw on Fakebook, I don't trust random comments in any way. I want to see some video and comparisons

I agree, that doesn't seem like reliable evidence that Kemper is demonstrating the new profiling at Guitar Summit. Maybe they are, but if so, they are doing it in the typical inept Kemper way.

You’re probably not their favorite person at the moment…
This was yesterday in our booth, about an hour after Christoph introduced me to his family and an hour before we grabbed a beer in the Kemper booth:

That’s not the type of hatred and no limits competition we expect from our vendors. We want to see a bloody UFC style cage match every time you are at the same event, or at least some serious drama. :D

You're a legitimate, genuine class act D.I. Not many of you left in the M.I or business in general for that matter these days :)

That's a big reason why a diehard Fractal guy like me is going to be buying a Stadium when they're released. Fender left a bad taste in my mouth the way they handled the teething pains of the TMP, and Neural can suck a room full of donkey dicks (I watched everything unfold at TOP during the QC launch, including longtime members getting banned). They'll never get a penny from me. But Eric and Frank have always been straight shooters with integrity-and enthusiasm for all things digital (even from other manufacturers). I have no problem spending some money to support them. And I'll wind up with an FM9/Stadium super rig that fits in a duffel bag.

Hi MM - I remember you from a few years back on the Kemper forum and I hope you’re keeping well :) Although I still have (and like) my Mk1 toaster, you can probably tell from the above that they’ve lost me as an upgrade customer….. I still wish them well and hope they manage to pull something out of the bag. And learn from some of the other companies that communication, done right, is a good thing.
I remember you too of course bro'. Hope you, I, E and A are doing well man. Is "Double You" still goin'?

As for the upgrade thing I'm torn. I have my own "little" private-Hell story but I keep it to myself 'cause it wouldn't be professional to do otherwise. Definitely affected my life adversely and I'm still payin' for it.

Always loved the company's products, hence my waxing lyrical across many forums including of course their own.

Provided the new profiling was illustrated, you would expect longer videos to come out soon. And people be waiting for the new profiling, which is delayed, but the website still mentions summer as the release date.
