My gawd Guitar World is such a POS website. You could fry an egg on my phone trying to run all those ads and vids embedded on the site.

Agree. FWIW, they are probably just trying to survive and got usurped by the web just like all the other print-first media folks. It'll probably continue to limp along for a least a while longer but its days may be numbered...

I used to love magazines and still like to browse around for them when I am in a bookstore etc; but Premier Guitar is the only one I still subscribe to... I regret throwing out all those old 'Guitar For the Practicing Musician' mags last time I moved a decade or so back..

Anyway, it's gotta be rough for those folks who would like to write about stuff like this for a living today...

It sucks that he felt obligated to respond at all. What a shitty climate to have to conduct one's self within the confines of.
Well they say bad publicity is better than no publicity. IMO, if he can keep it going by maybe a follow up YT video and a few more interviews, it may just sell more Victory Amps.

TBH, I saw a few Victory amps YT videos when they came out, but never really considered them from the videos, but now I looked them up, saw they had a few different lines that wasn't just what I saw on those videos. If I am ever in the market for a $1000+ tube amp, I'll probably check them out.

I have always liked the "Sound Like XXXX Without/By Busting The Bank" videos and have learned quite a lot from them to copy some tones from bands I like and even some of the gear reviews. I think they did a good job on the Marshall Origin Amp reviews, and I hope to pick up a used Origin 50 eventually when they become more prevalent on the used market since most of my playing is old Marshall tones that I can get close with it without "Busting The Bank".

He apologized because part of what they peddle is trust. Not in the fact they aren’t trying to make money, but an illusion that they have no dog in the fight in with what they are demoing, and that they just want your business regardless of what it is. If people think they have an angle beyond just processing an order, it is potentially bad for business and the channel.
