IK TONEX CAB

Yeah, the price is a bit steep. But for me, just the aux in and the "monitoring only" EQ alone are great already. And you just don't get that with the competition (which is really making me wonder, fwiw).
But isn't that exactly what the Fender does with regards to EQ? Here's the text from Fender's website:
"The 3-band active EQ and high frequency cut control allow players to fine tune their stage tone without altering the line output signal"
Sure, it doesn't have an aux in, but still...

Can confirm. Both the FR-10 and FR-12 outputs just patch a buffered signal directly from the input, and before any EQ.

Yeah, you're absolutely right. Wasn't aware of that.

I come to this sub to get away from IK Multimedia

Their “DSP” marketing talk seems a bit much on first glance. I’d be interested to hear what more knowledgable folks have to say once they get their hands on it. I don’t think FRFRs (except the cheapo ones) are lacking in what they are supposed to do of you get the right size and power, so idk if this is the gamechanger that the marketing is trying to suggest. I’d be very happy to be proven wrong tho!

So, ok, what about that preset knob? I could almost bet that's one of the typical IK stupidities that they just have to slap in on everything they do.
Unless this has *lots* of friction (and ideally very noticeable notches), what will happen on a dark stage with this thing tilt back, is that you will accidentally select another preset even if all you wanted is to adjust your treble control.
Anyone wanna bet against my prediction?

Put a piece of tape on it so you know to never turn that knob.

Sure. But what if I actually wanted to select a preset as the first thing on soundcheck? Select preset, then put tape back on?
Obviously, this might not be a real life scenario. And taping that knob would likely do the job (or removing the topper). But seriously, that's not what I want to do when buying anything like this brandnew.

The only unique trick here is that "mic/live" amp tone knob. Curious to see if this is anything more than a high cut or tweeter level control.
Kemper has had a ‘directivity’ parameter for years and that is effectively what IK is doing there.

The whole thing comes off as an attempt to create the ‘Universal’ Kemper Kone and when I think of IK software I’m not going to even try the IK handicapped version.
I guess if you don’t want to use a Kemper this is a choice to get something similar.
For me this lands in the same group as Line 6 PowerCab+. The swing and a miss league.
