IK Multimedia TONEX

Has anyone figured out how to download this? Its not in the Tonex update in IK Product Manger and not showing on their tonex page...oops, nevermind, it was just a teaser

... unfortunately not released yet:

Since Mesas are the official amps of this forum, does anyone have any recommendations of captures to check out? I have the TONEX sw installed. Is it still Amalgam captures that are the cream of the crop?

Fwiw, once that Tonex editor will be out, proven to work reliably and to be halfway well designed (oops, did I just forget we're talking IK here?), I think a Tonex One will be a must buy for me. There's just too many occasions when this might come in extremely handy. Add to this that I already own Tonex Max (got it with their Studio Max sale) and it's even more of a no-brainer.

I can get a Tonex for cheap.

Would it add anything to the HX Stomp i already have?
There are a myriad of ways it could augment an HX Stomp, and I’ve been on the fence getting one but don’t want to give more money than I have to IK, since I’ve felt cheated on their ”sales” etc of software.

What comes to mind:

Put a Tonex in the loop:
- To add an additional ”amp channel” on a oreset
- To get more DSP power for effects, offloading the amp and possibly cab to Tonex

Put the tonex after the stomp:
- To use the stomp as a pedalboard into an ”amp”. Easily switch beteeen an amp and the tonex with your core tone intact.

Or you can put a capture of a drive pedal on the Tonex and use in front of the Stomp. And probably a million other things you could do. Does it provide enough value? You have to decide.

The biggest selling point could also be capturing your own amp and having that in the TONEX. Or just finding your favorite amp of all time isn’t modeled in the Helix, then it’s probably out there in tonex land.

The giant downside is that with TONEX you will probably have to sift through hundreds of captures to find the ones you like, which is time consuming and soul sucking (to me at least). If I bought s tonex one now I’d probably just capture my Fireball 25 and try to stick to it.

The ONLY real reason to get the big one over the small one imo is the lack of midi on the One. With the big pedal you can send midi commands and change your tonex patch based off snapshot changes on your stomp.

So this Tonex with the editor can basically make a rig which is downloaded from Captures and or presets
with very basic parameter adjustments , what about the foot switching? does it work like say fractal or others where you can have different gear and settings ?
Cause might be Interesting as a backup or another Toy to craft tones I mean its not expensive i see it here @ $433.00 CDN

Well i dont know much about the tonex or the capture ecosystem why i asked :grin

In general, the Tonex pedal works as any other modeler, just with pretty limited options in terms of signal path, FX choice and placement and editing options. And it's defenitely not a unit you want to do detailed edits on, not even the bigger one.
