Uhh well this is dumb Why pay for these ?? 4 Pedals with 50 Different Configurations ?>

Yeah no thanks :)

Seems to me Fractal component modeling is by far superior
Pick a pedal that you need and fits best, Dial it in and your golden
and really it wont cost you a cent

QC is similar but your Plugins is a suite so thats not too bad
but still Steep
In example --->

It’s just modeling vs capturing, two different methods to get your sound - and with the QC there are modeled drives and amps as WELL as captures in the same unit. Some people don’t like captures, some people love them.

QC has an SLO already though. And when you buy the plugin, you get software that runs totally independently of the HW so it’s not really a “pack” or HW expansion. If you already own the plugin then it just means you can use it on a QC and achieve the same sounds.

Worse than that. IRs work on pretty much anything you buy in the future, while this stuff works only on Tonex. Move to a different unit that uses e.g NAM? Tough luck, can't use what you bought.

But there are tons of free captures so it's not like you have to buy something, and many 3rd party vendors are priced cheaper than this.

Yes, agreed the QC offers both Eco systems Component Modeling and Captures
And agreed @Mikael Dez some like Captures others dont
I was just curious but yeah no, not for me, does not mean its bad just not for me

:guiness

Captures to me make sense when:
  • You have favorite amps, and want close digital facsimiles of them with your favorite settings baked in.
  • You want to experiment with amps that will never be offered as models. Usually because the amps are either too obscure, rare, or just too similar to other things already on offer.
Then there's the weird side that I find really unappealing:
  • The collector mentality. These are the same folks asking for every amp known to man to be added to Fractal, and telling them to pick this other amp that sounds almost exactly alike is falling on deaf ears. They want an amp model that says "I am this amp".
  • The hunt for the "perfect capture", or heavy reliance on some 3rd party vendor.
Even with captures available, I'd still rather use component modeling every time, even if it's not as accurate as the captures. If I can dial it to sound/feel like I prefer, that's more valuable than trying to shoehorn a capture to work for me.
