IK Multimedia TONEX

Wow! Thanks! I don’t think ToneX was here before! Much appreciated!

You may still want to experiment with different input levels. The value you'll get out of the tool will likely work fine for anything straight from IK, but other captures may sound overgained. Unfortunately, required input levels are all over the place. I usually find some decent values, though.

I'm going to watch the video but up until now, I keep my interface (id44) at 0db and the tonex software at 4.6db. I do this just to match the audio sample file 'gritty' on any patch with my own playing on the same patch.

As said before, all the internal player's files are leveled extremely high (peaking very close to 0dB), and I don't think it sounds great with quite some of the models I've downloaded.

I usually keep the gain on the amp sim knob between 9 or 10 oclock. right or wrong, I get what I'm looking for. Past noon is unusable for high gain captures, I just usually set it to where I no longer hear a difference. Sometimes that's at 2 depending on the capture.

After watching that video, I'll try to beef up my signal and reduce on the plug in to see how that fares.

I've been messing around with the Tone X One and really enjoying it for what it is.

I have it running into a strymon Flint and El Cap and the output is my headphones. Unfortunately it's mono out. Is there anyway to make it stereo that I'm missing?

the output on tonex one is trs. if you plug in headphones and use a ping pong delay you should hear stereo

Sadites uses a y connector to feed his interface.

I had an hour totally evaporate on me tonight plugging into the pedal and jamming on some of the Mesa reference collection. Seems to happen every time I fire it up.
I'm sure I could look back but did you get the One or full phat Tone X?

But yeah, if you find a good profile/capture, it's stellar and just fun to play

Similar experience here. I've found one somewhat fuzzy Dumble capture, used one of my favourite IRs instead of the embedded cab (which worked amazingly great) and from then on used nothing else but that for around an entire day of playing. Reacts incredibly well to playing dynamics, so nothing else but a little delay here and there was needed.

I have both. I grabbed the full size CB pedal way back at launch, and then snagged One to get into the group buy. Both are very robust feeling pieces of hardware.

Any preference?

I want to like the bigger one but it has the most shit tier operation for anything that doesn't exist on the two tiers of knobs. Painstakingly scroll params one by one, then open it for adjusting, then back out of that, scroll again...

IK had multiple knobs right there that could be mapped to further layers of 5.

Even the "hold for alt" is bad user experience. I really wish they went back and revamped the onboard operation.
