If DNS is really impacting it, I think it could be the way the DNS system is trying to spread the load amongst the servers from their third party cloud service.

I'll give a quick troubleshooting tip for TCP troubleshooting.
If you open a cmd window and type nslookup, you can type the destination you are trying to reach.
In this case, my dns server is google and it can resolve to IK.
At this point, it is not an issue with DNS as google did their job and resolved the name. I now have the IP address I need.

Now if you can open a cmd prompt and do a telnet to 54.39.74.52 on tcp port 443, this will simulate a simple tcp call to their server on tcp 443.
If it sits there like this then their web server is not responding.

If the cmd window goes blank then you were able to connect to their server on tcp 443.

I was finally able to connect after intermittent issues, and ran a packet capture:
In the end, their server closed the connection with a TLS alarm and a TCP FIN. My browser never received valid data.
This would lead me to believe it is bottleneck issue at their actual site. Their server/LB clearly closed the connection after the TLS application related error.

Even easier for newbies run an admin (win 10/11) cmd line and enter
Tracert ikmultimedia.com
If all (3 to 5) return nil.. There's your answer, tracking from your router location.
You can also
Tracert /? (or /help) for add options.

you see the problem here. No way this is able to manage data peaks. There´s hops to mirrors all over but surely no load balancing, cache management or cloudflare and the auth server is probably unreliable.
I jusr activated the codes to download at a later date. Tonex app is unable to update content as well, no wonder.

Attempting to activate the tone x collections I purchased, but may need to wait until November to do so since their servers are being hit pretty hard right now.

yep there are definitely some routing issues in the cloud.
traceroutes aren't always conclusive as the icmp protocol is a lower priority protocol but it can be an effective tool.
The * can represent firewalls or devices that did not want to respond to your packet for that hop but this is not good.

If you ever want to know who owns any of the address space along the route, you can do lookups through
arin.net (their answers are always accurate)
or just type 'who is x.x.x.x in your browser' (due to AI madness, sometimes not always accurate)

in comparison, much cleaner.

Finally, you are not limited to using traceroutes, pings from your pc. There are bgp looking glass sites provided by telco carriers across the web to help determine where issues reside.

they let you choose from which city you would like to test.
Traceroute tests can take a while as, by default, it tries to resolve the name of every hop along the way.

The good: I received the 3 Tonex devices from Amazon around lunchtime.

The bad: Performance problems with the IKM servers turned the registration process into a 4+ hour session of disappointment and futility. After registration was successful, the next 4 hours were spent trying to redeem (not download) the first 49 freebies of the 147 software titles promised as part of the group buy promotion.

Unfortunately, after redeeming the 49 freebies associated with the Tonex One purchase, I was never presented with the ability to redeem the remaining freebies for the Tonex Pedal and Tonex Capture purchases.

They changed the page so that it shows redeemed, and a tier counter at the end. If you use the button next to that, it will let you redeem things and then increase the tier count.

I don't see what you're referring to. I go to my Promotions page per the instructions and as I've done before and there's one promotional item available. There's no redeemed shown or tier count or next button. I should have easily >30 promotional items available.

Tried it also. It works. Refresh = one more promotion slot appears. Rinse and repeat.

Yeah, they've changed that for the worse. You do now need to count how much you've redeemed already.

What makes it difficult is I can't find any one place where they're all listed. Software products are listed on the My Products page but items like sound packs for Tonex aren't. You have to go into each product to see which add ons you have. So far the best record seems to be the emails you get after you get an item. It's insanely frustrating.

It's a stupid implementation, but it just goes up in tiers. Not sure what the max tier is.

You have plenty to redeem everything you really want and then can think of what you maybe want.
