I lied about GAS. I want a single channel, face ripping Marshall

The Stiletto is great, but I dunno if it’s really going to satisfy the Marshall itch if he’s looking for authentic as he can get, I don’t think the amp he’s looking for will even be capable of doing the saggy/squishy thing like Mesa’s can, regardless if it can be dialed out or not.

Astoria…

Is that face ripping enough?

I had a Voodoo Amps amp. The Witchdoctor. Undergained blown toaster piece of shit that I had to fight dude over returning for a month and some change back in the day. That was my first and last "custom build" experience :poop:
T. Davis aka [doo doo] had Ritchie Fortus' original Arrendondo modded Marshall he bought off Mick Mars. TD was suppose to "refurbish" the Jose and had it in his possion for a very long time. Everytime RF would ask for an update or for the amp back TD would make up some bullshit story why it was taking so long.
At the same time TD was spreading the word in the Rock Star amp community he could make an original Jose amp for the right price.
Guess which amp he was copying ?
All the while doing this without RF permission behind his back.
POS.
Ive heard 15 years of TD horror stories.

I believe it. Absolute turd of an experience on my end.

I've almost pulled the trigger on that JVM and/or the DSL about a dozen times in the past week.

I just don't think either one will replace, in my heart of hearts, the 800 I once owned. So I am going
to hold strong. The Marshalls in the Fractal are so fucking rad that I am not missing out on much
else other than another headshell laying around, or piled on top of the others. :idk

The overhauled JVM of the III technically started this :hmm:rofl

Kerry King JCM time?:sofa:bag:satan
I mean yes. I love the one I played. A buddy has one I should borrow from him. Beast switch was awesome.

Sticking to Marshall I feel red 1 on the DSL should be tight enough. I had an SLX. I liked it. It was darker than the DSL I had though. The dual gain knobs were kind of a balancing act too but could sound awesome when done right. The 2100/2500 Mk III Master Volume is the same amp but with a clipping diode section for the extra gain. You can effectively turn the sensitivity to 0 and it bypasses diodes and it’s similar to a 2203. If you turn the sensitivity to 0 on the SLX it mutes the amp. I like the JVMs but I don’t think they have quite the grunt and thickness that a JCM 2000 or older Marshall has. More compressed.

I also second an Engl Artist. When I got my Metroplex, I took it to my buddy Dave’s house. He owns an Engl Artist. Believe me when I say it’s definitely in the Marshall camp. We could get both amps dialed out similarly, with the Engl being tighter and the Metro having more rasp. Together? Just massive Marshall tone. Sounded glorious in the room. There was no turning down that day.

Aka How to turn a $700 used DSL100 outlay to a $2200 Engl "investment":LOL:

FWIW, Friedman was just saying on this last week’s ToneTalk that he’s going to do a limited RF head, which will be that head.

(Which is the head Mick Mars used on Dr. Feelgood, apparently)
