Nothing particularly groundbreaking or off-the-rails, but still really cool, as I dive deeper into the capabilities of the Helix:
1) I built an "imitation" of my kitchen sink preset the other day, with substitute models wherever possible (like a parallel universe/Bizarro version) and ended up loving some of the sounds even more than before!
Grammatico GSG instead of the Moo))n T, a different string synth, Vintage Digital delay replacing Transistor Tape, Vital Dist instead of the Wringer, etc.
2) After hearing the Twin Tracker in Genome, I had success freeing up some DSP, then increasing the dual cab panning and adding the Stereo Imager -> that thing is legit.
3) Until now, I kept using the Helix with a guitar amp/cab (power amp input/fx return) or headphones, but this morning I hooked it up to my cheap home stereo receiver for the first time, feeding it the path that features cabs/reverb and the Stereo Imager, like I would provide to the FOH in a gig situation (a separate mono path would run straight to my on-stage amp).
And color me surprised, in a good way!
-> That sounded really awesome, no phasing issues or any other obstacles, at all. I rolled the volume up high, and the results were very pleasant, also thanks to Global EQ.
Kind of a late bloomer here, but I had to share the joy, since I guess you folks do understand...
