That sounds killer too
Kemper profiler: 2012Do you think the Helix/HX hardware will hit a 10 year anniversary as the main modeler range form Line 6?
We are approaching rack longevity territory here, a ton of effects in the Helix are timeless already.
With Digital Igloo saying not to bet on a successor coming out in 2024, Helix could just barely make it to 10 years.So... I have a question.

@Digital Igloo what ever happened with that bet, when is the deadline, is it still on?I am convinced that Line6 will not launch a new flagship guitar modeler before 2025.
I've only just realised that @Whizzinby's username is "whizz'n by" rather than "whizz in beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!" which is how I've been reading it for so long.
I'm sticking with my interpt.
I wonder if the DL4 is a decent point of comparison for longevity.So... I have a question.

In the US, a Helix costs as much as an FM9 Turbo ($1699).I mean, if the Helix is still selling, being updated, and being used by pros, and some folks agree that there isn’t much difference in sound quality between the “top 3”, then I see no reason to introduce a new flagship.
I mean, the FM9, for comparison, is a much newer piece of hardware, that doesn’t “blow the Helix away”, and costs more, so, I think Line 6 is good for a couple more years.
January 1, 2024. AFAIK, yes, it's still on.@Digital Igloo what ever happened with that bet, when is the deadline, is it still on?
In my opinion the elements that really define a new generation of modelers are:
1. More powerful hardware.
2. Amps and cabs accuracy and realism.
3. Rig building, routing, switching and control.
4. UI.
Leave any one of these elements out and you might call it a 'revision' instead of next gen.
FM9 is still based on the Axe-Fx 3 from 2018 so even though the product is new, everything about its software is older.I mean, if the Helix is still selling, being updated, and being used by pros, and some folks agree that there isn’t much difference in sound quality between the “top 3”, then I see no reason to introduce a new flagship.

Damn straight.Since my pedalboard is uprooted and in pieces, waiting for connectors and such, I pulled my Helix Floor out of the closet and quickly remembered why I can't let this thing go. It's a Cadillac. Huge but comfortable. Having 6 parameters on the screen at all times is so nice, don't need to rely on shortcuts and button-holding to get to certain functions. No extra footswitches or midi controllers -- except the Micromidi attached to the side of my Katana for switching the MT15, which I can easily hide down in front of the HXF if I wanted to.
