Helix 3.7: The Freeman Update

I'd guess it's either wireless HX "amp in the room" headphones a la Boss, or it's related to amp capturing in some way. Or both?

Anyhow, since there's a long road ahead, I wouldn't place any bets just yet. ;)

Nope. You won't see it for a long while. It'll be obvious, and likely many times more controversial/discussion-inducing than HX One could ever hope to be.
Hmmm.... it's a synth effects unit that plays backwards through your guitar, by sending a signal through the pickups and exciting the strings, and then uses the pickups to pickup its own output as an input?

I keep reading that spatial audio is “the future” but I don’t have the imagination to see how it would be game changing.
A VR amp sim app. It brings the virtual room, 3D audio, and a 3D virtual amp you can spin the knobs on ;)

(I'm only half-joking. Somebody will surely create this eventually, because VR runtimes already do a very convincing job of providing low-latency, head-tracked 3D spatial audio. In fact, with mixed reality, it could place a virtual 3D amp right on the floor in front of you!)

I guess that’s cool? :idk

Having an FM9 to reference now, I'd like to see Helix include stock-schematic versions of all their existing Marshall amps. I have no doubt that the models really do sound like the amps they own, but the circuit mods neuter the chime and clean tones of those amps for gain settings less than dimed. @James Freeman has been banging this drum for a long time, and it sounds like we'll soon see it for the 2204 (2203?), but to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Fractal, Helix needs chimey, kerrrrangy, bright and brash stock Marshalls.

I do think that a lot of stuff in Helix stacks up equal to or better than Fractal, especially the effects & drives. The onboard UI of Helix is on another planet, and the way parameter settings are handled via snapshots also stomps on Fractal's scenes. The only place it really falls a bit short IMO is some of the older amp models, and I know the Line 6 team has the experience and knowledge to step them up.

100%

A great stock JCM800/JMP 2204/2204 is a excellent start, it's the benchmark of all modelers in my personal opinion, every company should have the best sounding 2203/2204 reference amp (or two) they can find then model it to the best of their abilities.
Then do the same with stock 1959, 1987x and Jubilee for a solid Marshall foundation in your modeler.
#34, Jose, et al will be very nice additions too.

Do the same with Mesa amps, model all the channels and switches of great sounding IIC+, IV and Rectifiers you can find and afford.
This is where Fractal stands out, they already have all the above, plus advanced tweakability one like me would want to fiddle with.

We finally have an official Fractal dealer where I live and I am very tempted to splurge.

They have a great return policy too, but I think the ability to practically "rewire" an amp in the Fractal is going to be right up your street!

(I thought it would be in mine too, but ultimately I found most of the effects very subtle so tended not to bother)
