Fractal Talk

Well forget about the boss es-5 switcher as it's only mono loops, but the es-8 has 6 mono's and 2 stereos, so neither will work with my fractal set up if i want complete stereo. So I guess I'll just do what i planned by series chaining for now.

Ok maybe the boss es-8 can still work... Someone said on other forum "With the Boss ES-8 why not use two mono loops as a stereo loop, thus giving you more than two stereo loops i.e. five stereo loops in total."

HOWEVER.... The Morningstar ml10x may be the answer I'm looking for!

The Axe FX 3 can run three stereo loops and has an integral interface. It would also replace the VP4 and can do the bulk of what the H90 can.

Haha that may be where I end up eventually some day if I like the fm3. However I still think fm3 mark II and vp4 = more than axe fx III when it comes to what you can do. Like I could have 5 plex delays with this set up, but still only 2 with axe fx III and same applies to many of the other things.

Either way it may be something to think about to scale down some day! Because I drive myself nuts doing this sometimes along with everyone else :D lol

finally took a chance and uploaded the Beta
- the new compressors are really nice if you want that country clean or chicken picking snap , they will definitely get you there
they are cpu costly though , I have the OG FM9 and with comp (single) drive wah phase , flange , chorus, multi delay and verb I was hitting 80%
there was no way I could have added a pitch block or a plex delay or a second comp block .
- Amp modelling sounds good but I did not notice a huge difference sounded good before maybe a bit softer in feel more compression
- Friedman definitely tighter in the lows but still very dark and low mid heavy
- I can definitely start to see where the cpu is getting taxed I think the Turbo is 10% more so you might get in another block depending on what it is , but if your someone running best quality in the comp and cab block (not using Dyna cabs )with its and the preamp you are going to need a bigger boat possibly
I say possibly because if you are willing to spread the heavy effects out over several presets you will still be fine and with the addition of gapless switching at least we now have the option to do that

Brock now in the Fractalverse!!!

FM3 + VP4 will be immense dude. (y)

The AxeFXIII is constraining for simple effects usage:

Sometimes I wish I could add an 89th effect to one preset.

What was the cpu of same preset on the prior firmware?

Would have been low 70s maybe when I first installed the beta it was 83% and the warning was on had to delete the rotary and a few shunts
Then it was hovering at 79-80
With the blocks mentioned above
The reverb on the FM9 does not really affect things
Comp has to be 10% or more depending on the model

Hmm ok. This new firmware is making me a little nervous that it's going to break my existing presets. I'm hoping they can optimize the CPU some more or maybe keep the old comp models as a legacy option.
