Just don’t turn hype up too high - the virtual cone hits the virtual cloth and all the LUFS in the world can’t save you then
sharing a quick demo just for fun. one of them is an fm9. just to show you can get them close. the effects are both native to each modeler. agoura 2203mv.
TS is mono...TRS is stereo.I recently got a Eventide H9.
How do I hook it up so that it returns in stereo?
Currently I have TRS -> TS into H9 and then TS->TRS in an effect loop. That doesn't see to return in stereo. If I put a Ping Pong delay after the FX loop I hear stereo, however if it's before the Loop, it's no longer stereo.
What am I missing?

(threw a backing track in afterwards just for context - normally I would fix the timing but not just for this) don't ever try to put a backing track last against a freetime sound clip. :)

This is when they tell you the 2nd one is FASI don't think they sound close enough. The 2nd one must be Stadium. It's way darker and less open compared to the first.
TS is mono...TRS is stereo.
So if Im understanding you, even if your H9 has a stereo/mono input/output jacks (does it?). Regardless, even if the TRS is being taken in as stereo it looks like your signal is leaving the H9 with only a mono cable...plugging a TS into a TRS jack doesnt make it become stereo...
Also, I believe there is a routing choice in the H9 to be set if you want the H9 to send stereo or mono
Ok, a couple thoughts. Make sure the delay you are using ( or any block) isn’t one that sums the signal or I think the memory man delay has its own weird way of combining the left and right. And again, is there some routing inside the H9 that needs to be set up so the two left and right pairs are in fact delivering that? I haven’t had an H9 in a long time but I’m sure the H90 was like thatYes it does have stereo output. (pg 14)
It has 2 inputs (hence I'm splitting the TRS from Helix into 2 TS) and then 2 outputs (2 TS out into a single TRS into the Helix). Sorry if that wasn't clear.

I was using a stereo ping pong delay (and stereo reverb). And you're right the H9 needs to be set to Normal.Ok, a couple thoughts. Pan return 3 left and pan return 4 right?I was using a stereo ping pong delay (and stereo reverb). And you're right the H9 needs to be set to Normal.
I figured it out. Maybe there's a better way, but...
And as long as any effect is stereo before/after H9 it will remain stereo no matter where the H9 is.
- TRS out Helix 4 -> single TS on both H9 inputs
- Single TS out H9 -> Helix Return 4, Single TS out the other H9 output-> Helix Return 3
- On the Helix add Send 4 block
- On the Helix add Return 3/4 block
I didn't pan.Pan return 3 left and pan return 4 right?
We are for sure!@brianwahl are you guys going to be doing any DI captures of the proxy packs you first put out? I love the amp+cab Matchless Chieftain capture, would be awesome if I could use it with my power amp/cab as well.
Thanks so much! My friend/colleague Bradford captured that one - that’s his amp. It’s a really good one for sure. So glad you’re liking those clones, and the presets. After enjoying the free Proxy captures from @brianwahl at Signal Theory, I decided to pay for the Benson Chimera that they’ve recently released. I had a Benson pack on my Kemper which I liked but it had nothing on this imo.
It’s absolutely fantastic for my taste - not only the captures themselves but also the presets that come with it which have ample snapshots. I’m personally not a fan of the really washed out stuff that a couple of the snapshots go to but there is so much in there that does the trick with the other snapshots and just turning pedals on. I really like this amp hit with the king of tone the way it’s dialled in here - I tried it with several different guitars yesterday and I couldn’t decide what I liked going best into this.
I haven’t tried the direct captures yet but I will…..
I don’t really want to go down the rabbit hole of buying lots of captures / scrolling through them as I’ve enjoyed the experience of using focus view then tweaking to taste to get where I want to go. I didn’t intend to go back to my old Kemper ways! Glad I ignored my own thinking on this due to nostalgia for a profile I liked on that platform……. There’s only 4 captures of this amp and (imo) that’s a good thing - plenty of tone shaping between those, the pedals as set up here and of course the guitar you hit it with.
If you haven’t tried their free Vox and Victory yet, give them a go - worth it for the way they’ve set the presets up and gives you an idea of the places they go / how they dial in to see if they’re a good fit for you. I’m trying to resist the bad cat now….
