Fractal Talk

I could have sworn I tried that but I will try again tomorrow to check for sure :D Thanks!

Those little things bite us all in the butt at one point or another. You have to set Output 2 to copy Output 1, but you also have to turn up the physical Output 2 volume knob.

Anyway, I'm glad you're happy with it! The factory presets are indeed extremely good, and very usable as they are. When I first got my FM3, I got hung up on the Spandex And Hairspray preset, I stayed on that one for a while until I finally scratched my 80s itch.

I tried running Out2 to a wedge while running Out1 to FOH at a rehearsal last night and I had to boost Out2 level of each preset +10db

Is there something I’ve got set wrong in global settings? I didn’t have time to dig into it and my fm3 is still at the venue so I can’t check today

You could always boost your input level. I noticed fm3 is pretty low when it's set to 0 so I put it on like 0.100 or something like that and it helped a lot.

My input level feels good, it’s hitting things the way I expect. And Out1 volume level was normal.

I checked out2 in settings and nothing jumped out at me. It was set to line out

I am confused.

"Output 2 is primarily designed as a unity-gain output for use as an effects loop. To get more level to drive your monitors use an Output 2 block and turn up the Level in the block."

Does it mean the fm3 can essentially have 2 fx loops then?

In theory yes, but it doesn't support e.g "put IN 2 Left here, and IN 2 Right over here" type stuff, and I'm not sure if separating the two from the same position works that well either.

Make sure Output 2 is set to Line Level / +4dBu in the IO Audio settings. Also, if you have an Output 2 block on your presets and you're running mono presets, either set Output 2 to "Mono" or make sure you have the signal panned appropriately from any stereo blocks going to the Output 2 block for whatever physical output you're coming out of "Left" or "Right".

Can we have some appreciation for the little tuner on the main screen! Geez I love that idea of having a tuner on the fm3 and the vp4 at anytime!

Yeah that’s one of those QOL things that you don’t realize how unbelievably convenient it is to have, until you’re using something else that doesn’t have it.

“Wait, I’m going to have to turn on a tuner?”

Picked me up a FC-6 on reverb for around $350 after shipping/tax (ordered another XLR cable for it too). They should arrive early next week. :D However it's missing the side cheeks and the person said he doesn't have them anymore. Is it possible to find replacements? I guess I don't need them but would be cool to have if I could find replacements for a decent price.
