Fractal Talk

my point is"with so few issues from a company" sending a replacement immediately is the way to go.Line 6 seems to have sence enough to do this.
Whilst I agree that in Swirly's particular case, a replacement would have been in order, given the unit was barely a couple of weeks old, it simply isn't practical to do so all the time.

A few years ago, when my HX Stomp was less than a year old, one of the capacitive touch switches stopped working - I didn't get a replacement, it was sent in for repair.

My point still stands though - if someone needs a particular tool to do a job, it simply makes sense to have a backup if at all practicable to do so.

Fractal clearly didn't use enough goop on your FM9. :hmm
I think there's probably a flaky component on one of the PCBs, or maybe a cold solder joint somewhere that is intermittently going to open circuit. Just a guess, but I am no stranger to working on and diagnosing faulty electronics, which is why I was so paranoid about it being fixed before I sent it in for the RMA.

I love Fractal..... but....

It's faulty. It was sent back for repair. It arrives back faulty. You are out some kind of shipping costs you
can't retrieve back... ever! They want you to plunk down another $1700 or so for another one.... probably
including more shipping $$.

Fuck that!

🤔 We don't know what the refund amount will be yet. Perhaps better to wait and see how the story ends before judging?
