I am a very happy Fractal user.

Whilst Metallica, U2, Def Leppard, and other big acts use Fractals live, I would guess with %100 certainty that when / if ever they go back into the studio to record a new Album of new material, they will all use real amps for their recordings.

Just my 2c.

I just find this line of thought interesting: "I use modelers live, but I use tube amps recording, so when I run it through this mic that colors it heavily, into this mic pre that colors it heavily, and then apply these VSTs, I get pure distillation of toan".

just the form factor. those led encoders are 75% of the UI for an amp sim, like Q-links on MPC, or knobs on the Pod Bean. instant access, instant visual feedback and you don't need tweezers to use them. 2 rows of 5 of those, above and below the screen, where knob assignment parameters contextually change on the screen, it would be great

You get 2 rows of 5 controls (both per preset and globally) that are assigned to 5 physical knobs.

And the benefit is that YOU decide which controls you want mapped to the knobs.
