Have you tried adding an external, non-FAS footswitch to an FM wtever?
"Select the correct RING/SLEVVE/TIP/SLEEVE/TIP setting in I/O and custom offsets in per preset menu then hit enter 4 times to shunt the modifiers backspace three times and then connect TRS plus 4 adapters in reverse order while holding the exit button."

The value knob is likely the tall knob that sits seperately off to one side of the grouped knobs under the screen. They've probably slimmed it down for this smaller form factor.

I dont know what the Value knob does anyway, so if it’s gone

I think those were there to add stiffness for the screen cutout, suggesting maybe it isn't the same screen?

I see a small lit screen down by the footswitches but the larger reflective area on the upper section is dark.
