Fractal advanced power amp Screen Freq and Q

i was playing around with screen parameters, my default is to turn them both way down to affect the low end as little as possible for chugging. But if you turn them a certain way the power amp can become an oscillator, where Q is the resonance or depth like on a mod filter and frequency is the rate. All the advanced power settings are really interactive, where B+ and sag are kind of like dampers on a suspension you can control and tune how much compression and rebound there is, and how fast or slow the suspension responds.

just messing around i maxed out Q and Freq and B+ both and found a really satisfying leading transient characteristic that i hadn't heard of felt out of the fractal before. it feels like with screen Q so prominent and freq maxed out the power tubes are pre-charged so when signal hits them they go off like a bomb. loud amps feel that way. The sound itself is a blocky washy mess but there's a overlying really satisfying transient pick attack to it that feels more lifelike than i've ever gotten out of the fractal so far.

why can we not upload .syx presets in here

We opted against it earlier on due to not really knowing how much of a threat it’d be to the members if people could upload files. IE- If a shithead signed up and gave everyone a virus claiming it was a preset or something. It’s something we’ll probably revisit at some point. We were all new to running a forum when this stuff was initially discussed, now that we’re super amateur forum owners rather than regular amateur forum owners, we can make different decisions. :ROFLMAO:

like i said the sound itself is kind of shit but what caught my ear is the overlying feel is still really nice to play somehow while sounding maybe actually terrible, that's how real gear feels

I just took a peek into the expert settings in the power amp section last night. Will definitely start messing around with parameters when I get the chance later.
