Fender Tone Master FR-10 and FR-12 "FRFR" cabs

I do on occasion but not regularly.

I find them most useful during the initial setup with a given modeler but I may change from the FM9 to the Axe FX III or to my Tone Master Imperial Preamp so I dial in the FR for each.

In addition, on a given day I may feel like everything is too dark or too bright or needs more or less mids.

Particularly in relation to my Fractal gear, it's nice to just be able to grab a knob and make a simple global adjustment.

With that said, I can't remember the last time I made tone adjustments on my FR but I do periodically.
Had to significantly adjust it tonight at a gig. Boomy stage and my 12 was creating some nasty resonance on low E string so had to dial back the bass to mitigate it. But usually not much, pretty much default settings more or less, some minor tweaks on occasion, tonight was an exception. Does come in handy.:grin

Does anyone know if the noise issue persists with the 212? The internet didn’t show me much about that one specifically, mostly the single woofer designs.

Well the 212 did not have any noise issues and worked excellently in a small bar situation where my PA wedge was getting buried even at extreme volumes up on a pole. Think I had the volume on 5/12. Was a little spiky so I pulled the cut to ~5 as well. Sounded great, moved a good amount of air with a solid middle-body thump and handled my stupidly down-tunes guitar with ease. I ordered a Hypersonic for my other rehearsal room and will have a pair of PA speakers up for sale next week. Solid product. This is what I wanted from the Line 6 power cab. Balanced I/O, simple tonal stack, accessible volume control, no extra bullshit.

Good to hear! I was for a long time down on the 112 not being loud enough but I have that sorted. I would love a pair of Hypersonics (minus the logos) if they are just rebadged/branded EVH equivalents. I REALLY need the WKSmith eq section though. Good to hear it handled whale fart tunings with ease :satan

Cool. Looking forward to finally buying a FR12 next month :D

I don’t suppose anyone who pulled theirs apart or is smarter than me knows if the input is expecting pro or consumer line level? Found a random Fractal forum post that said +4 is the way to go.

What was your issue?

I had a fr12 with a hiss issue and it was within the correct serial number.
Fender fixed it @ No cost to me not even shipping.
 Don. :idk
I have an FR10 I think has the hiss issue. Fender refused to deal with it after asking me to record a video with my cell phone camera and concluding that it didn't have the issue based on that video. Never mind how that can't possibly make sense in any reasonable way.

I’ll let you know on the Hypersonic this weekend. Should be here Saturday.

So sorry to hear stories like this. I guess at some point Fender realized that, either they fix that, or the product would be an epic failure due to customers warning everybody not to buy it.

This was recent. I think what they decided was that it was getting too expensive to fix them all.

Fender just announced a Tweed version of the FR-12. Looks pretty nice but, holy smokes Batman, $750?!?! What's up with the pricing?

Even the vanilla FR-12 is now selling for $700, which is ~30% over the launch price a year and a half ago.
