So I guess guitarists voted and they like ""FRFR""...that doesn't look like ""FRFR""? I've said this before...Are """"FRFR"""" the mopeds of the amp world? Everyone finds them fun but no one wants to be seen with one?

The cab size makes it sound and feel more like a real amp to me than the smaller speakers. Same thing with the Friedman and Laney powered cabs.

Per Liam over at the Fractal boards:

"The class D amp module for the 12 is by Kustom (Hanser) it is rated at 300w at 4 ohms. They paired it with an 8 ohm speaker so it puts out roughly half that power.

The horn has its negative lead interrupted by a cheap soic mosfet in a de-pop situation that is rated to dissipate 3 watts maximum."

Which is ^exactly^ why the FR12 12" Driver Magnet is side stamped at 150w

Somebody asked a bunch of 6th graders it would seem.
You clearly haven’t heard sixth graders speak in a while. Honestly, if you asked my sixth grader “what kind of lame name would people my age give a guitar speaker cabinet” these are the ones he would come up, and he would make me feel terrible while explaining why we would come up with names this lame. Or maybe my kid is just an asshole. He did learn from me, after all….

Huh? I'd think marking on a speaker would relate to power handling of the speaker, not possible power that might be delivered into that speaker by an amp whose spec sheet states that it delivers 300w into 4 ohm.

He just means the power amp rating matches the speaker, IIUC.

The speaker is stamped 150w / 8 ohm .... like all speakers it will handle short bursts above that but regular levels above that wont be good.

Thats why the Class D Amp is 300w @ 4ohms and 150w @ 8 ohms.

The 1000w "PR garbage" is probably just saying the Class D Amp "can" theoretically produce a micro transient up "1000w" ... how they actually measure and rate that "1000w" is any ones guess.

Its a 150w @ 8ohm Amp running into a 150w @ 8ohm speaker ... but if they advertised it truthfully as it actually is, sales would be f%ck-all compared to what they probably are.
