Do you buy guitars that are signature ?

^ The signature was a 2019 MIM.
This one is a 1999 MIM.
I scalloped the neck, Blackmore style.
Mounted Dunlop strap locks, F-500T pups, 62 pick guard, MTC (Spice Box), Sperzel locking tuners, Piccato RB strings, DIY oversize trem, strap button on the neck, 70s block saddles ++, and got made a copy of the Reunion Blues leather strap.

The Broadcasters came with a 7.25” radius and like Eagle said, I’m guessing it was primarily for a large lack of guys who were soloing/doing a lot of bending back then so no one had much of a reason to b*tch about it.

And they didn’t really have a lot of options back then, these days when we run into an issue we come on a forum and ask for opinions/experiences and get a ton of options to choose from to fix an issue, back then it was probably “Oh, this chokes out when I bend it. Guess I’ll just play that note at the fret instead of bending ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don’t think Fender changed the radius on guitars until the 80’s? I was looking at some 70’s necks today and they were all 7.25”

Lack of guys soloing back then? Ahem…

I don't intend to buy signature guitars but they end up doing stuff I need like the Ibanes M80M and the JP6.

I would like to have a Dimebag Dean from Hell to hang on the wall.

Yes I own a petrucci jp7, Hammett demonology, cobain’s ones … they are all great . And got standard models too also

I’ve got a SE Santana - latest version - that I love. Wife got it for me as a combo birthday/anniversary gift and it rules. I also have a KH-602 in metallic purple sparkle that also rules. Sig guitars are fun. I wish I’d have bought a Cantrell Rampage when they were widely available.

I have a Schecter Tao 6 so I guess I would. Though I don't even listen to the band of the person whose signature it is. I bought it because I liked it.

The only signature guitar that I’d be interested in is a Robert Cray Strat. The reason is that’s the one I’d build if I were ordering a custom and not because Robert Cray plays one. Hardtail bridge and rosewood fretboard is where it’s at.

Other than that, I’m not really interested in a guitar built to someone else’s specs.

I have one sig guitar but it's the sig model of a guy I never heard of and know nothing about

Bought it just because it's totally unique

Heh, since I originally said I have a PRS DW CE24 - which has since been traded. I also have a Majesty, a Mayones rSI, a Luke IV and I sorta/kinda converted my Ibanez S to a hardtail Nita Strauss.

But they being "signatures" had zilch do to with any of it. Well, perhaps a bit on the Majesty - since I'm obviously aware of JP's prowess, JPP? I didn't mean to say PP, pplease don't ban me! :idk

Fender EC and JB strats
Tyler Landau Classic
Edwards Jimmy Page LP
Strandberg Plini

Thought it'd be more but these are the ones I've owned at one time or another.
