Do you buy guitars that are signature ?

I've owned a few. The first couple I owned were both Fender HM Strats, which were the signature model of Greg Howe. Eventually moved them on because of the Kahler Spyder bridge, which wouldn't stay in tune.

I currently own an ESP RZK-II, which is the signature model of Rammstein guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe.

The other one is an ESP E-II MK-II, which is the signature model of Kreator frontman Mille Petrozza.

Superb instruments, I don't regret owning them at all. They're also quite unique looking, as you can see in the picture below:

I’ve never bought a signature guitar. Generally if I’m looking for a certain style of guitar, i’ll just look for players in the style I’m going for that are using stock models of a certain guitar and then refine my search to those. That’s how I landed on my specific model of RG and 7-string. Saves a little coin not paying the signature tax.

That Jake Bowen RG though is a thing of beauty, I need it to go on a big sale so I can reverse my approach. :ROFLMAO:

I now have two signature guitars:

Squier J Mascis JM - Didn't buy because of Mascis. Bought because it was a kick ass JM in my price range at the time. Still a great guitar.
Epiphone Alex Lifeson Axcess LP (earlier version with the piezo) - Yes, I'm a huge Rush fan but that's not why I bought it. Bought it because with the piezo it's a super flexible guitar. I was looking at ways to get an acoustic sound without a headache and it fit the bill. It also gave me an LP but with a contoured heel and a Floyd. Maybe not traditional LP but I don't want a traditional LP.

I'm not against signature guitars but I don't buy them because of the artist. I'll buy them if the features and price are good just like any non-signature guitar.

I had a Jeff Beck Strat. I sold it because the neck was a baseball bat, and I almost doubled the price on reverb. :grin
I had a Nick Johnston USA Custom Shop Strat. I loved it, but sold it to buy a Ibanez J-Custom (wife's "guitar-in/guitar-out" rules:cry:)
I had a JEM777 Anniversary. I bought it just because I could almost triple the price on Reverb. :grin
I had the white JEM. I sold it because I didn't want to get the "wannabe Steve Vai" critical looks from the audience. 😄

I would love to have a KIKO100 because of the specs and looks, and because it is an S-Series (with a slightly thicker body).

My only two that got signatures are a Les Paul Custom and a Les Paul Standard. Not trying to be cheeky, but Les Pauls when they first came out were just like the artist endorsed guitars of today. Les Paul was a well known monster guitar player back in the early '50s when the LPs came out. And a reproduction of his signature appears on the headstock of LP Customs, Standards, Specials and Juniors.

And...the Deluxe !

I've just realised that I'm gassing for a signature model for the first time. I've been checking out revstars but the spec I'd really like they don't actually make. If they eventually release a Chris Buck sig revstar in the same spec as this one I'll immediately buy it. Damn it's a great looking guitar and the spec is pretty spot on.

Damn, that's a real beauty there!

I love Revstars, especially those with the wraparound - might very well have to get one at some point in the future.

And those amber knobs... *drools*

Yeah I wish yamaha would stop mucking about and make this. It's even just got a three way switch and no other random wiring nonsense so I wouldn't even have to rewire it.
