Do I get anything different by buying a Triple Rectifier or Badlander if I have a Dual Rectifier?

I put the entire question in the title. So you can decide to ignore it or not, without opening the thread.

But since you did open the thread....

More headroom? But are you really running out on the dual? 🤣

The badlander is a rectifier by name only. Id highly advise against ditching the dual for the badlander. As far as just adding the badlander to the mix.....i probably would go for a different flavor of amp. Despite the badlander not being too similar to the dual, id opt for a different amp

Definitely not ditching the Dual. It is a lifer!

badlander def yes, it's got like this diode clipping sounding front end, like it's JCM900 and Dual Rec's grandkid. Triple Rec is a different sound from Dual Rec, but same exact recipe, they just left it in the oven longer

I’d swerve both based on what you’ve got. I’d say Mark IV/Friedman/Revv. Or build an SLO Clone. Or make amends with Fryette and grab another Sig X

If those are the options I’d say a badlander would give you more variety than a triple with what you have

That said, I think you should get a Mark III, IV, V, or VII

Right now what I have is:

Diezel VH4
Diezel D-Moll
Diezel Hagen (not mine, but long-term loan, but I may eventually buy it)
Marshall JVM410HJS
Orange Rockerverb MKIII 100-watt
Peavey 6505+
Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier multi-watt (2018 version)
Laney VH100R

I'm almost at the point where I probably don't need anymore amps! :rofl

Eventually I think another Suhr Loadbox and one of those KHE amp switchers, and I'd have a pretty good "real world Axe FX" type thing going on.

IMO it’s too redundant to own a Dual and Triple Rectifier. The Triple is a little more extended and solid on the low end but IMO it’s not useful in any scenario. You end up filtering it out.

My advice to you is to track down a Mark III-V. If you need to footswitch between crystal cleans and brutal high gain, get the IV or V. If you only need one sound out of the amp at a time get a III. I prefer the older simul class models but opinions vary there. The graphic EQ is mandatory. Do NOT buy a Mark series amp without the graphic EQ unless you plan to throw one in the loop. It’s essential.

FWIW this is coming from someone who owns a Dual Rec and Mark III….the Mark series does everything better.

I agreed with your entire post until this. Mark III and Dual Rec fan here and while I am team recto, a Mark belongs in every collection.
I knew that was going to be divisive but I only half meant it.

Only the Recto does the Recto thing. While I like that thing, I’ve gravitated to prefer the laser focus of my Mark III for most things these days.

My rev G Recto still gets some love though. It’s a great amp and is where I go when it’s time to get rowdy.

Yeah I'd love a Revv G 120.
