Boss GX 10 ..... Floor EFX Unit Anyone ?

I tested both GX100 and GT1000 side by side for a week or so with the stock AIRD Cabs .... is there a difference in hardware spec between the GX and the GT .... on paper yes ... could I hear any difference up loud or quiet .... no-never-inaudible.

Yes. The GX 10 does run [if you want] 2 Amps at the same time and you can mix / blend them as you wish etc....
Yes. It is totally and utterly gapless switching ... you just go from preset to preset instantly with spillover ... no need for scenes or snapshots or channels

With 170 Boss EFX and 15 Blocks + 3 Dividers [Dividers allow for Parallel Paths] all for only US $399 if you want an EFX only rig for you real Amp or your Amp-only Modeler this is just an insane no brainer .... unless you want or need multiple non-standard reverbs .... and you don't even need to use any of the on-board Amps if you don't want to or don't like them !!!!
Yeah, the more I was thinking about this morning the more I thought about how even the effects alone make this one worth considering.

I'd be tempted to pick one up to play around with it. I had my eye on the GX-100 when it was on sale as an effects only unit for my Rocker 15, but dragged my feet because of the IR issue. Then they fixed it with a big update after the sale was over, so kind of lost interest. But $400 is intriguing, it's definitely a challenger for the HX Stomp at that price.

Except it lacks an amp channel switch control output...

I was gonna try and offload mine, but I was persuaded to keep it. I now just use it like a POD. It's my silent desktop practice and writing toy.

In a pinch, if I need in the future.....it's just an outboard effect processor.

I probably couldn't give it away now ...so yeah....I know...

Now if I could just forgive myself for purchasing it in the first place.🤣

Friends don't let friends buy anything Headrush .... sorry :)

As does the US $699 4 Block VP4 ;)

That was the reason for my Thread title ...... putting aside totally the Boss Amps which you either love or hate - I personally reckon their Originals are awesome ... but you get a ton of Boss EFX + 15 Blocks + 3 Parallel Dividers + Exp Pedal etc.... for US $399 ..... honestly I'm not buying one and don't need one .... but for someone like me who doesn't need or want or have any real-world-live use for exotic reverbs and delays ..... this unit is a total absolute steal no-f*cking brainer.

If I did want an EFX floor unit to match with my real amp or amp-modeler ...... I'm going to want and need a lot more than a maximum of 4 Blocks at any single time.

And like I said, you can just ignore / pretend that the Boss Amps or Cabs aren't even there !

Just ordered!

Love my FM9....but an ancient Boss GT-1 is still my go-anywhere all-in-one travel rig. So the GX-10 is an awesome upgrade for that.

Seems like this is going to put all kinds of pressure on the low-end. The fly rig is $329 -- look at what you get for $70 more. And while it may be twice the price of all these new pedals from Line 6 et al, again, look at what you get for the difference.

And on the mid-range, well, I'm no fan of Helix and this makes the Stomp even less attractive..... I suppose the use cases are slightly different, but its $250 more and even then it lacks some "table stakes" features like phone app editing, etc.

Its a killer unit
I really like the GX100 for effects and even distortion models in there sound really good.
Will order this asap, it will sit perfectly in my office desk

It took me a while to figure out if it can take custom IRs. I had to go through the parameters list to find out.

It can take 16 IRs using a dedicated tool. But it seems like the GX-100 custom IRs have issues. They say that the converted IRs could sound dark and muddy. Anyone knows if that has already been fixed at the GX-100, and subsequently at the GX-10?
