I may well be very biased towards the Axe-FX, but in terms of guitar tones, that may be the clearest and most defined recording I've heard from you Whizz. Am I imagining that?

Thanks man. Means a lot. It’s so rough around the edges that my OCD is making me tweak out, but sometime you just got to make the most of the time you get to try to do something “productive”.

Often the "first few takes, didn't try to do brain surgery on it" ends up being better than the thing that you carefully polished for hours on end.

Im unbelievably happy with the dirt tones considering how little mixing I did.

Sounds fantastic. Those dirt tones have some real authority to them.

I wouldn't doubt you. I always use a single amp because that's the best way for me anyway

They have different chips and they run faster so I would not be surprised if there is higher resolution and over sampling and In turn that results in more clarity

The AF3 definitely has less latency; so perhaps there a sub-concious effect that fools the mind into thinking there's extra clarity?

When I had both I didn't notice any major sound or feel difference between the Axe-Fx 3 and FM3 when set to identical settings. I'm sure there are some things the Axe-Fx 3 does better soundwise but IMO it's in "doesn't really matter" territory.

I know I recorded something with my FM9 when I first got it but haven’t since, definitely didn’t notice anything any different at the time. There’s so many variables that could cause something like that to pop up as a difference that it’s the one time I’d say I wanna see some graphical proof there’s actually a difference.

I have the latest beta. I am waiting for the final release then will skip a few betas until something that's groundbreaking for me comes up. It's definitely a lot busier with the III

Though someone on the Fractal forum did put it into good perspective, if a new release was coming out tomorrow, you still have the best device that’s on the market today and it will never get worse.
