Axe-FX (A Love Story?) Rd.1

Yeah, the 9 is a fat and hard no from me. Had it. Too big and clunky to be called "portable." :idk

:sofa

I am sure I'll end up with an Axe-Fx and the FM3 and call it done and done.
I see a place for every mindset at the table, imo. The 3 is not small enough to be mentioned in the same sentence as a Stomp or some hotone turd. But I could certainly clean up some space on my board. For the 5 minutes it stuck :rofl

Tape chorus and @2112 's Blackhole reverb block are just great.

I think I stretched the limit of the virtual capo on bass. I went two steps down with it, after dropping the bass as low as it could go and stay in tune, and it is still super floppy. It's hard to use a virtual capo more than a step before stuff gets weird.

Is there a way to filter the amps and/or cabs to just the bass offerings?

Also, @FractalAudio you should model the Darkglass Ultra pedals. It would be a great addition to your bass offerings, and would have the added bonus of stealing more of the vital essence of your competition. :ROFLMAO:

Excellent work!!! The guitars sound epic, and you got that kick drum positively mofackin' punchy as hell.

Unfortunately no. You can put "bass" as the search term in Axe-Edit for the amp selector, and that should show you most if not all the bass amps available. Mark them with a color to find them easier later.

I believe the only bass Dyna-cabs are the 1x15, 2x10 Heart Key and 1x15 Portabass.

For Legacy IRs you can find some bass cabs with the search term "4x10" or "1x15".

Got a chance to spend the afternoon playing with the new firmware.

The 800 is ace. I also tried a slightly different approach, not gaining it out all to hell. Just some really great snappy rock tones if you don’t bludgeon the hell out of it.

Which leads me to my new obsession, trying not using the drive block at all. Just using the input boost or Sat switch results in some really great tones. Only using the input boost types removes some of the OD footprint and seems to make the amp a bit more of the star of the show.

EVH Stealth is great. Oddly I’m liking that red channel a hell of a lot more than I did when I owned the 50w amp. Drop the gain and crank the mids and rock.

Also more props to Leon for his latest video. I had no idea you could change the clipping types in the Pi Fuzz. Epic being able to change it to OpAmp to get your Siamese Dream on, or experiment with FET, Silicon etc. Basically a dream Big Muff. Badass.

@SwirlyMaple I'm gonna have the vet give my ears a special flushing out in preparation, so I can fully kick back and luxuriate in the revised triode algorithm. 🤤
Seriously I can’t even remember the list
Like 3 or 4 JVM Satch models
2 2203
2 2204
3. EVH Stealth 100w
Mark V clean channel

4 spring verbs
4 or 5 other verbs
4 Tremolo

A dual tape delay
A tape Chorus

Amp block improvements triode
Gapless switching

I think that’s it lol like 10 amp channels

****** forgot the drives
Nobels , Morning Glory and Mesa Flux

Just saw this now, but if you tune the bass back up to have decent string tension you’ll probably have a lot better luck. I’d imagine that initial string strike on a saggy string bass sends the pitch block into a spin trying to detect the note as it goes BOOOOOowwwwwww.

Yeah I was weighing do I want to use the virtual capo to drop it a ton, or tune it to a cooked noodle tension, and sort of landed in the middle. Might have been better off just letting the capo do its thing.
