Murphy painted super light.
What’s not to like.

This really is far better than the original.
Obviously not the heritage but it sounds beautiful.

Not mine unfortunately.

You at least get to spend some time really getting to know it, though. The older I get the more I realize that sometimes it’s better to experience a little bit of something rather than existing with it for years, for a myriad of reasons.

Serious question, not being snarky (even though I'm not a big fan of LP's): are they doing any models with pre-broken headstocks, for both authenticity as well as strengthening? I heard rumors of it, but I can never tell when someone's just being a smartass.

No and I don't think a well repaired clean break sounds any different. You only get differences starting to occur when you have to splice in splines.
Clean breaks don't usually need them.

Here’s one I did a while ago.

Limited edition R0
Nice clean break when it arrived.
And afterwards;

A bit of a line is all that is visible;

Didn’t want to go any more opaque with the cherry nitro.
This is a money no object repair so a lot of carful spray work. Often people just want function and don’t want to pay for the cosmetics.
