Hahahah the wear pattern on that one above looks like the time I tried relic'ing my own neck. Started off good but when I stopped I realized I pretty much covered every string/fret and it just looked too uniform.
 
Great information from Tom here .

He has made tools that look a lot like the ones I use. It’s nice to see I came up with most of the same techniques as Tom considering how much experience he has now and how good he is at this.
The part that matters most is the way you paint it and what paint you use in the first place.

This perfectly captures how the wear reflects the typical playing and how lead playing creates different patterns to chords. Bending is different again. Compare this to the utter shit on Nash.

No way, dude, fingers totally make wear marks directly in the center of the frets only. They’re just like a Dremel tool with a sanding cone in that aspect, don’t even touch the frets EVER. :rofl
