Yeah, I’m a stickler when it comes to nut height. I file them down to the absolute lowest possible and always have a spare handy just in case. I even go as far as sanding down Floyd Rose lock nut shims to dial in the height even closer.I had to raise it about 1/8th of a turn on each saddle post, I need some finger meat to make it under the string or I feel naked.
It’s really crazy how much a .mm can do in regards to sustain and overall playability. this guitar has never had a sustain issue of any sort, but with the correct string height legato stuff is ridiculously consistent. I think because I was strangleholding some of the notes closer to the nut before my fingers are just used to the extra force, it takes effort to make a note strop ringing now.![]()
