What are you listening to right now ?

This guy would have ruled them all.
He kind of did and does in certain circles, not that is should be a competition really. It's about the songs in the end, and personally I really like Shawn's songs, wish he was still around to make more.

Also, let's not forget Neal Schon was only 17 when he joined Santana.

Sure there were many, including a very young talented Randy Rhodes
for me none mentioned had the impact on the world like EVH
But thats me you are all entitled to your opinions of course

Cheers

You can be the greatest technician in the world but if the songs aren't there; :idk

So true. IF he'd been discovered by the right kind of people who hooked him up with the right band mates.......

In reality the guy was an idiot savant who could stun on guitar and keyboards but never drove a car and couldn't balance a checkbook if his life depended on it.

Just really sad how it unfolded for him.

Yup. Melody, hooks, swing.... something, something, something else.
There's no doubt Shawn had all of those things, but like any artist different paths are taken that lead here or there. I'm just thankful to have what we have.:love

A drummer and Bass player want me to come play this week with them and gave me a few songs to learn and this one is the hardest. I have been trying to work out a solo at my abilities to fit and have listened to this probably over 100 times the past 2 weeks. Still a great song and all the other parts are coming together. I have also been checking out a bunch of Slash's other stuff to get a little feel of how he puts things together.
